Anyone left ON Strava?

Will those strava changes effect on all users or only non paying costumers? Seems from the video it will effect on all🤬
I think (not sure) my TR plan gets data from my garmin forrunner directly from garmin connect and any activity still using wahoo systm I think it gets up to TR directly too but the outdoor rides recorded by my wahoo roam only get to TR from the sync with Strava, so it seams that those outdoor rides will stop counting twords the overal TR plan  unless Wahoo and TR get that direct connection soon.
Is this the correct interpretation from the Strava changes?

Just deleted my account entirely. I see the people I want to on social rides, I don’t need a daily check in on other riders, nor do I care if other riders see what I’m doing. The ONLY reason I held onto an account was to share data across multiple platforms.

They are still passing data aren’t they? But they are attaching conditions to that data that they pass. Your data, not theirs. I’ve never been a subscriber, but this morning have deleted my account. I won’t miss it.

They aren’t stopping you taking your data and giving it someone else - they are just limiting the API.

Strava’s new attitude is that if 3rd partys want your data to do anything other than show it to you then they should get it from you themselves rather than rely on them to do the legwork.

They are already doing the legwork by passing the data. It will be interesting to see just how many people do cancel their subscriptions or delete their accounts. Difficult to see what Strava gains through this.

As soon as TR/Zwift data sharing goes online.

Yep, I have cancelled mine (6 year subscriber) over this API move.

Once they required a paid sub to see leaderboards, it actually made me enjoy cycling more. I was no longer consumed on nearly every ride with where’s the next segment and my time. It won’t be a hardship to let this whither and die, much to the disappointment of my 6 or 7 followers…

I’ll be letting my sub expire. Done with them.

That’s my plan, once TR and Intervals.icu integrate directly with Zwift, I see little reason to keep giving Strava free data. Gear and component tracking is probably the only thing I’ll really miss, but hopefully ProBikeGarage is realizing hinging their entire business on a fickle, unreliable partner isn’t a great idea long term and they’ll come up with a solution that doesn’t require Strava.

Same here…

Intervals already does gear tracking

Dumped Strava a few years ago. I have an account so I can kudo some friends, but I never post my rides on Strava.

Sometimes a 900# gorilla is just a damn gorilla.

I deleted my 12 year old account today.

Similar, hopefully Rouvy will interface to intervals as well and then Strava can pound sand. I will keep Rouvy rides on Strava for the time being and simply record on my Edge to have Connect go to intervals. I might miss the mileage count on Garmin because it was always messed up but at the end of the day, it doesn’t really matter in fitness stats anyways, just ego ones.

Cancelled my subs today. Done with them

I canceled my sub a couple of months ago. To see how much I used Strava, I set my account to private, while still syncing my rides from Garmin and TR. I downloaded my archive, just in case.

Over the last couple of months, I logged in maybe a few times, but not at all over the last couple of weeks or so. When I saw DC Rainmakers’ video, I went ahead and deleted my account.

Should change the thread name to ā€œAnyone left on Strava?ā€

Thread win!

I ditched my paid long ago, but briefly considered rounding up a group for their Friends & Family deal they announced a while ago. I never got that done and am happy my laziness won out.

I don’t plan to walk away from Strava entire since I still use it for F&F mentioned above. But I welcome TR’s eventual addition of 2-way coms for Wahoo & Zwift specifically. Perhaps I will bail on them entirely at some point.

Ok how do I link wahoo to TR now that I dumped Strava, manual only?
