Adding more rides on top of my plan?

I just started a low volume rolling road race plan which gives me three rides and 2:30-3:45 hours a week. On busy weeks this is enough and all I may be able to fit but on weeks when I have more free time like holidays I would usually do more volume. Can I add more rides and if I can what type of rides should they be. Also, can I incorporate group rides or can I just not ride anything but the plan’s rides.
