Late on this thread, but just want to add a quick 2¢. What I don’t understand is why I get downward adaption recommendations when I nail a workout and select “moderate”. The soulless response is “based on your recent performance”. Well, that’s just not a good enough answer if I’m going to accept the recommendations. I need some more specific feedback in these cases otherwise I’ll just assume it’s a glitch. Maybe TR is afraid of revealing some of its IP by letting you know what it’s actually looking at to make the determination for adaption recommendation. (I haven’t missed, skipped, or failed a workout in a long time. I am 2 weeks out from my A race but the plan already had me tapering). I just don’t like the black box.
Hey,
I’ve just taken a look at your account and it looks like the Anaerobic workout you completed today and marked as “Moderate” prompted some adaptations that you haven’t accepted yet.
The adaptations show that AT is trying to increase the intensity of your next Anaerobic workout and decrease your next VO2 Max workout. This is likely because the last VO2 workout you completed was on July 13th, and it looks like you may have struggled with that one a little bit.
Adaptations sometimes come in bunches, so both of the proposed changes to your workouts this week aren’t necessarily tied to the workout you completed today.
Let me know if this helps to clear things up for you.
Thanks for the response. This helps me cope with the black-box that is the App. I think my approach will be to NOT accept the recommendation (I had a reason that work out was tough a week ago). And, after it’s done, if it still has other adaptions, I’ll accept those since right now, as someone mentioned earlier in this thread, there’s no way to pick and chose what’s offered.
