A Wild idea for Favero Assioma pedals [MTB SPD Hack]

M-Force 8’s spacer/o-ring I got was 4.05mm thick.
Tried on Assiomas, and it binded.

Realized it was pressed onto the Xpedo axle by about 1mm; I compared to the other pedal that I hadn’t tapped the spacer out of yet. If I just put it back the spacer on the Xpedo axle, the bearings would bind, so the ~1mm press fit was necessary.

The Assioma axle’s shelf is a bigger diameter than the Xpedo axle’s shelf, so it probably can’t be pressed further.

I got some 500 grit sandpaper, and sanded in alternating circular motions and rotating the spacer every few seconds to keep it flat and even. 3.75mm thick would still bind when tightening to 4Nm for my pedals. Went further down to 3.65mm, and now it’s smooth, and can’t feel any play! Took about 5-10minutes of sanding per washer. Other side wasn’t as smooth, so I went down to 3.61mm, but I think that was just the bearings themselves as it stayed the same.
