30 points FTP gain, Can it be done?

I could hit 1100w (peak 1 secs) so my sprint is really bad :expressionless:

As you mentioned it will be really hard to do both following high volume base and trying to loose weight. But in the climbs i want to improve my wkg. Hope i can handdle both of them (even now my recovery process lasts longer. I feel so often soreness on my legs) And i will try to loose weight before start build phase (thanks again.)

Btw i have no idea About my optimum race weight. Do you have any tips about how to understand it?

Don‘t forget that there are also some heavier riders that cannot sprint (TT riders like Alex Dowsett). As far as ideal raceweight goes I know that i have some reserves (85 kg @ 1,84 m). Typically I look up riders with a similar height on procycling stats, which gives me an idea, but it is important to understand that we are not Pros. Mine is probably around 78 kg (1600 W max.), but would be happy to hit 80 :grinning:

That’s tricky, because it depends on a lot of things, not least the style of rider you are and the type of races you do. Plus, you may trade peak power for repeatability, so a slightly lower W/kg may actually be better for you.

How you training and weight loss is going? I´m quite at same situation at 80kg (188cm) with little bit over 4w/kg FTP. Goal is 4,5w/kg but I don`t know if I reach it by losing weight or gaining power…

Hello,
I have finished ssb high volume 1 and now i am in the fourth week of ssb high volume 2. I did not skip any workouts in the first phase (ssb1) and improved my ftp (around 5%) but i did not loose any weight.

Now i am in the middle of the second plan (ssb 2 high v) and i started weight training twice a week (thursday and sunday nights with heavy weight low reps) but my weight is still same. Yet i look much moreeeeee better. It looks like i lost 3/4 kgs but the weight is still same. I guess i am loosing fat and improve my body composition.

But i still want to loose weight. I need to be around 75/74 kgs (with 1.88 cm height). I am trying to consume 2.000 kcals per day (without workouts) but i dont know why i cant loose weight (at leasts see on the scale). So it would be great to keep in touch and get some advice or motivation for loosing weight.
