Yes, definitely. VdH had to take a longer line so didn’t have the momentum and probably had to take a rougher line.
Would be interesting to watch how both VdH and Iserbyt took that corner at the foot of the bank on the previous laps - a good chance Pidcock had sussed out that VdH took a wide line so made sure he was in place to cut inside.
Once he was ahead you had the classic no-one wanting to make the effort to catch him and dragging other riders simply holding their wheel and then taking advantage. Pidcock’s lead settled in to the 25-35 second range pretty quickly and stayed there till the finish. They all know each other well enough that Pidcock knew what effort to maintain to stay clear.
