It looked like Sagan was going faster on stage 11 in the finish. It’ll be interesting to see if he’s finding his legs (or if Demaure was soft pedaling across the line) assuming the Giro doesn’t get stopped…

The Giro is my fav grand tour but if I were a team I’d be really weighing up the option of bugging out now before (and that is assuming they are free) they get hit. There seems to have been very little control between groups/teams/everyone.
Giro race officials told TuttoBici that none of the police that work directly on the elite men’s pro race tested positive. Race officials also pointed out that the E-Bike event, a parallel race featuring electronic bikes, runs ahead of the pro race each day, and that the event has its own police operation that work separately and stay in different hotels from the larger Giro entourage.
Yeah I saw the update. However 17 cases are still a lot and I hope that the staff of the Giro takes more precautions.

Screening is virtually worthless…if they don’t have a fever, you aren’t going to catch anyone. the fact that RCS and the UCI have not increased the actual testing of the riders and entourages is telling.
Agreed 100% with the above suggestion that they set the finish for Sunday. Leaving COVID aside, the mountain stages are not going to happen as planned anyway.

WTH…Dennis was doing a super tuck on the descent…but with his aero bars, his chest and head couldn’t get very low, so they were above his hips. I can’t imagine that was actually more aero than staying in the aero bars. Dunno…maybe he tested it and it was good, but definitely didn’t look like it.
Yeah he was putting out 600w+ constantly on the climb and every time they show his values the power is above 500w, he’s a real beast. I guess his FTP is in the 480/500w range.
About Dennis super tuck Gianni Bugno, who is commentating on the Italian TV, said the same thing. However he doesn’t like super tucks in general.
