📣🎉 ZWIFT + TrainerRoad Integration is LIVE! 🎉📣

When you say ‘start of a new block’, would that mean at the start, or end, of the recovery week? That is, I would consider my block to be the three load weeks and the recovery week (which works nicely with the 28 day FTP trigger), but is the recovery week at the start, or the end, of the block? In my head I’m thinking start, but my head can be really messed up sometimes.

Right, I tend to think of the end of the recovery week as the end of the block. So the Tuesday after the recovery week, right before my first hard workout in the new block, is when I hit the FTP detection button.

@ZackeryWeimer do you have any thoughts/comments on the topic in the few posts just above this one (about the best/recommended time in a block of training to trigger the AI FTP calculation)?

Last night again:

  • no survey on Z ending the workout
  • on TR android app in the opening page the Workout done was still to be done
  • on TR calendar the Z activity was there but TR workout also. No auto sync.
So I did sync both manually and replyed the survey.

Dont get why this is happening so often now when during testing it was working way better.

The bit I’m not seeing which I did before was a little plus 0.5% threshold next to a completed workout

The thing I am noting up from your screen grab is that the workout transferred from Zwift appears to be an iteration of the TR workout, as noted by the “(1)” after the workout name. Is it possible that you are getting multiple versions of the TR workout imported to Zwift? (I also noted that the TSS and IF for the Zwift activity are different than then TR workout, but maybe that’s normal.)

I only had one workout on my TR WO folder but now that this is mentioned when starting the workout on Z we are asked to copy the workout to our personal folder and the last couple workouts I’ve said yes. Those copied workouts get the (1) after the name and maybe after the cooy thats the workout launched and not the original TR WO just copied. This can be the reason. Ill be alert next time.

Thats because I ended the WO half way.

On what device are you running Zwift? I use an iPad, and have never been asked to copy a workout to another folder. The workout for each day seems to always show in the ‘For You’ carousel on the main page, but can then also be found in the Workouts → Custom → TrainerRoad Folder. It seems odd that you would need to copy it anywhere, as opposed to just selecting it from the For You carousel (presuming that you’re looking for the current day’s workout) or the TrainerRoad folder.

I use a Windows PC and I dont need to copy the workout but when I pick it on the TR folder inside Z workouts it asks if I wanna copy it. And doing the copy I get it on my personal workouts folder and maybe thats the issue. I thought copying it would only leave it on my personal folder but the launched workout would still be the original on my TR folder.

Does the workout for the day also show up in the ‘For You’ carousel when you first log in? I always see it there, so I just select it and don’t drill down to the TR folder.

Yes it shows up too on the main Z page.

I am still encouraging those issues with Zwift. None of my last scheduled workouts were on Zwift available even tho they showed up as synced within the Trainerroad application.

Today I tried for ten minutes to get my workout synced to Zwift (re scheduling over and over again and restarting Zwift).

This issue was not there when the feature launched.

Hi,

looks like there is some sync issue between TR and Zwift currently:

  • Workouts are not synced to zwift
  • Rides from Zwift are not synced to TR

Doesn’t appear to just be my setup, as there’s at least one more user with the same problems reporting in the Feature announcement thread

Update: at least the sync back worked after a while, but the issue of workouts not being available in time is still a bit of a nuisance

The sync after finishing workouts has been failing several times has reported in that thread and I havent got the Z survey ending the workout either.

But the folder workout on Z has been working. The workouts are there in time.

Already mentioned that during testing in the final days this was working fine.

My thought on this is that maybe it is caused by some unusual changes in the way the workout is sheduled or done.

  • last night I just had moved the thursday workout that I missed to do it. It poped on Z folder but when finished no survey and no synk in TR app, maybe this calendar change confused the apps.

  • this morning I ended the TR threshold workout on Z halfway. I was feeling too exausted after yesterday evening workout. I looked a way to finish the workout and not the ride/activity to get some more time on the trainer on Z2 but theres no way to end it that way so I finished the activity. Again no survey on Z and no sync on TR. I wasn’t even alowed to reply (no available option) to the survey on TR Windows app after having syncked the activity. Had to open the android app and there I was able to reply to the survey. This is weird! Even weirder was having some adaptations suggested on the Windows app and after replying to the survey on the android app the suggestions disappeared.

Only speaking for myself, but the workout I was waiting for today has been scheduled for quite a while. So at least in my case, it wasn’t related to any calendar or schedule changes.

I didn’t have my TR workout available in Zwift today (20 minutes ago) either.

Tried it again today, and it worked perfectly fine.

Who knows, maybe it was just some temporary network issue or server hiccup for one of the two apps

For me since roughly about a week the workouts do not show up in the Zwift interface even tho they have the “Zwift synced icon” within the Trainerroad app.

Getting them synced is becoming more and more of a pain as I have to manually re-schedule them within the Trainerroad app and then restart Zwift a couple of times until finally the workout shows up on the for you (main) page. Today this process lasted about ten minutes of closing, re-scheduling and reopening the Zwift app until it finally worked.

Device is an android device. I’m always closing down the app after workout and shutting down the whole device. It’s a dedicated tablet for my trainer.

On what device are you running Zwift? If something in the Appleverse, be sure to always force-quit the app after each session. This can prevent myriad issues.

As for workouts, I don’t think I’ve had a hiccup since the TR integration started. I’m hoping someone gets to the bottom of why some are, though. I’m wondering if there’s a common thread.

Hey all, just checking back in here after the weekend. For those of you who are experiencing sync issues, our engineering team is taking a look.
Late last week we started seeing an increase in errors coming over from Zwift when syncing workouts. In those cases we forward the information to the Zwift team and we’ve also implemented some redundancies on our side to handle it. I’m not sure whether the issues the few of you have posted above are related to these errors, but it seems likely, and we’re looking individually at each of your accounts to make sure we know what’s going on and can get our team (or the team at Zwift) working on a fix. Thanks for the reports and I apologize for the annoyance of workouts not syncing!
