Worldwide Disaster 2019, The Official Launch!

I am totally in! Don’t have a big race until March of next year, and it’s a running race, so at least this will force me to at least maintain my bike fitness. Now the question is will I do the full workout, or - 1?.. - 1 is on my calendar right now, but you crazies are making me seriously consider just going for the full thing while I’m at it.

Have logged the full version in for Wednesday the 18th :upside_down_face:
It’s our wedding anniversary over that weekend and I don’t need to explain what kind of disaster it would be if I was on the trainer for 4 hours instead!
It slides in nicely right at the end of century specialty so I’ll really feel like I’ve got something to work for.
Looking forward to it?!

Pencil me in though, as things stand, it looks like I might have to do it on Sunday 8th due to currently scheduled work commitments.

Great to hear!

We’re currently working on the sign up form, so when that’s up, make sure you put your name down!

Put me down for the -2 version. I might do -1 depending on scheduling. I am definitely buying a shirt as well.

Disaster is always the way to go.

I put Disaster -2 on my calendar for Dec 14. I had Fish -2 scheduled that day. Looks like a fair trade. :+1:

I’ll go again. It wasn’t as difficult as I thought it would be.

It’s a mental challenge for sure. I broke the entertainment up between Netflix, races and zwift just to survive and still struggled to focus in the fireworks section and beyond.

Plan your entertainment as carefully as your nutrition… :joy:

Depending on how you feel but be prepared to skip mills on Monday if you still feel tired

Here is what I was thinking for the +1:

I noticed that we dont do traditional under overs in the OG disaster so why not throw them in at the end for good measure. Thoughts?

What’s the time/tss on it?

Chad made Disaster and two excellent cut down versions were created for the event to increase numbers taking part, for those who don’t have the time or want it to disrupt their workout plans.

Have tried to understand why anyone needs a Disaster +1, just bump up the intensity by a few percent if it’s not challenging enough for you or you could just do Disaster followed by -2 version if 4 hours 15 minutes on the trainer isn’t long enough.

I do have time on the Saturday to do the full Disaster, designed by Chad, and am looking forward to the challenge again. I’ll probably be doing the Volcano circuit on Zwift again whilst taking part, get that 25 lap award!

Look forward to seeing others on there for some moral support on the day at some point and to add another t-shirt to the collection

Increasing the intensity sounds like a better idea than the +1 version. I am a moron for not even thinking about that. I like that idea.

I am not sure which loop on Zwift I will run. The volcano idea sounds appealing because of the 25 lap reward. I was also thinking, jungle loops or the sand and sequoias. It does not matter too much. Just eye candy.

I am liking just bumping up the intensity on the OG one idea though so that I can stick with everyone else.

I will save the +1 for the End of the Base season celebration in March

I’m in! That will be at the end of a hectic month or so of travel for me where I’ll be trying to work through traditional base Mid volume . Sounds like a perfect fit
