Why would an assigned threshold workout be lower than last 6 weeks?

I’m supposed to do a threshold tomorrow. Looking at the graph I’m confused as to why I’d be undershooting vs previous power. I did sleep really poorly last night so I skipped an endurance ride today and entered today as a sick day - I didn’t pay attention to if the workout changed once AI recalculated my calendar. I think the power for the over unders seems to be what it was before the sick day.

How were your last couple of rides before the illness? Any rides rated harder than expected? I could see that and sick combined to get that result. I had a fail and my next ride was a similar easier ride.

All depends on what’s in that orange line. The devil may be in the detail …

Higher than normal because I could finally ride outside. My power for efforts is always lowest on flats so my last threshold and vo2 have been outside and I’ve been ~5-10 watts higher for threshold and 10-20 for VO2.

Hey @Lorichka6

It could just be that TrainerRoad adjusts the step size based on what you’ve been doing lately, so you can keep progressing in a way that supports consistency and long-term growth.

Let us know how the workout goes!
