I have already asked this to Garmin support chat and they have no clue.
Based on my understanding, live strava segments (i.e. the ability to race against my PR) are not displayed on a Garmin Edge while navigating a course.
indeed this has never worked for me. In fact I can see and compete on a strava segment on my Edge only if I am not navigating. Until today.
Today I went for a ride and loaded a course.
to my surprise during the ride two segment (only two) did show up.
on the edge I even had a dedicated screen listing SEGMENT_START and SEGMENT_END locations (a pair for each segment).
when i approached those two segments the “race segment” screen did show up normally.
I cannot explain why these two are showing up. But is this a hint that there is a way to make this work?
I have no idea what is special about those two segments.
any hints?

PS I forgot to add that the route was created on Strava and synced via integration to Garmin Course
