Itβs not a polarized plan, but one that schedules hard days on Tuesday and Saturday and leaves the other days for endurance zones. I will switch my plan, but Iβm also on gravel race training plan from another coach for a gravel series starting in January, so I will have to see which plan for each week wins my vote.
Those who switch over, please leave your comments here so we can compare notes on the over 60 crowd and learn from each other. Thanks!
61 yr old here. Have been using TR for about 3 yrs now. I just switched over to the masters plan, not that I was having any particular issue with the existing plan I was on. But I got the prompt to switch and thought, βSure.β When I first saw the new masters training plans, it seemed to me to be a good idea to have this variant for masters. But then I thought, well why hasnβt AT already realized this and βadaptedβ my training to be like the masters plans before now? AT knows how old I am, right? And it knows my training history, so it seems like if the masters plan is what I should be doing, AT should have already modified my plan this way. Or am I missing something?
AT doesnt have that level of control. It has a workout plan based on the type of plan and just adjusts your progression levels based on your completion of your last similar workout and your response on its difficulty.
It will not deviate from type of workout, take a day off etc. All of this is up to you.
In theory, youβre correct but the machine learning and adaptations are not that nuanced β at least yet. The adaptations are based upon how you perform on your previous workouts. One question I have asked on the Masters Plan thread is how will they affect the AI FTP updates. Masters Plans and More Launched Today! ππππππππ - #240 by DavidWms
