Whiskey does not make you faster

For the record, I replicated my earlier studies this week and consumed 6 oz of Bushmills on Tuesday night before bed and did a threshhold workout Wednesday morning. I can report that the previous night’s consumption of Irish whiskey did not (despite my best intentions) improve my perfomance on the bike, my RPE, or my general disposition during the intervals.

At present, I have to report that while whiskey did dramatically improve my subjective opinion of my fitness on Tuesday night, there was no evidence of it helping me reach those imagined levels Wednesday morning.
