Which accounts to sync together

so between a wahoo computer, strava, zwift, trainingpeaks, wko, and trainerroad i have no clue what the right combination is to sync everything so its not duplicated everywhere else, so i end up doing alot of it manually (or not at all).

  • indoor rides - trainerroad or wahoo (when zwift) push to trainingpeaks > manual wko import
  • outdoor rides - wahoo push to strava and trainingpeaks > manual wko import.

based on that, trainerroad doesnt get my indoor zwift and outdoor rides without manual imports that i never remember to do. If i set trainerroad to sync w strava or wahoo, the only option is pull and push and then i end up with duplicated rides in trainingpeaks.

How does everyone here push/pull data around so it isnt duplicated?

Hey @redline9T!
I want to make sure that I understand where you are seeing duplicates and what platforms they are coming from, to see if we can avoid them!

So here are my questions:

  • What devices do you record your rides on when doing 1) TrainerRoad inside Workouts, 2) Outside Workouts, and 3) Zwift rides?

  • On what platforms are you seeing duplicates?

  • Which platforms are these duplicates coming from?

Am I correct in saying that you would like all of your rides to show on each of the following platforms?

  • TrainerRoad
  • Wahoo Training app
  • Zwift
  • TrainingPeaks
  • WKO
  • Strava

Thanks in advance if you can answer those questions. That will help me answer your question

I run TR and Zwift in parallel, and dual record on my Garmin head unit. That way TR and Garmin each get their own native inputs to drive Adaptive Training and Garmin’s algorithms. I setup Zwift to automatically push to Strava and Training Peaks. On the rare occasion I do a Zwift-only ride, I manually import that into TR.

I record just about everything else except indoor cycling on my Suunto watch, which also pushes to Strava. Because I do not dual record Zwift on my watch, there are no duplicates.

This is my real architecture. It’s overly complicated for sure and could be streamlined by having a watch and head unit from the same company, and maybe in other ways, too, but it works for me.

Circling back on this  .

Syncing TrainerRoad, Strava, TrainingPeaks and Wahoo/Garmin without seeing duplicates on any platform

@redline9k shot me a DM to explain that he’d like to get all of his Workouts on TrainingPeaks and TrainerRoad without duplicates on either platform.

You shouldn’t get duplicates if you do the following:

  • Sync Strava with TrainerRoad and TrainingPeaks,
  • sync TrainerRoad with TrainingPeaks,
  • and record the Workout on one head-unit.

Once your Outside Workout has synced from Strava to TrainerRoad, we will not send it again to TrainingPeaks. Our duplicate Workout filter should prevent the Workout from syncing from TrainingPeaks to TrainerRoad again.

Let me know if you have any questions about this!
