First time riding my bike abroad….did some Greek gravel /farm land roads/. Got flat tire about an hour in my 2 hour planned ride. Rode with flat tire about 8km. Hope I did not damaged the wheel. Second time pinch flat. I will try tubeless when I got home. Good I have my running shoes with me. Olympus peak is in the first picture.

Almost marked this moderate … must be time for an FTP bump. AI FTP Prediction is showing +3.7% at the end of recovery week next week. This has been FTP whiplash since it’s dropped me nearly 10% over the last 2-3 cycles and I suspected this most recent drop was too low. I probably should have been between where it put me three weeks ago and where it’s sending me next week, but next week feels about right given I passed every workout and then some this block.
Anyway … shortened course since the US Park Service closed one end to setup fireworks. Signage says that end is going to be closed for three weeks. Oh well … I can still get 10-minute laps done.
The hidden costs of outdoor workouts…three cars ran over my glasses today.
Balmen.
3x4mins at 261W.
I got 270, lost glasses, then 250 and 230.

Just under 5 hrs of gravel today. Elapsed was an extra 45 or so. Buddy crashed hard on an off camber descent and had to get picked up. 4 hrs in I decided to go full effort into my most hated climb. Averaged 323 watts (4.6 w/kg) for just over 10 minutes. This was after a 90 minute threshold interval yesterday as well. Felt really good about the effort and how I felt that deep into the ride.
No scenery pics today, but did snag one of the stallion. Hadn’t ridden my gravel bike in 6-8 weeks. Everything has been mtb both outdoors and indoors. The 37cm bars and rigid frame took some acclimation ![]()
Sorry, but what is the tube below the top tube frame. Haven’t seen such thing. What’s the purpose of it. Suspension? I am jealous that you can do 5 hours of gravel, I can do max 90 mins and roads end.
Frame pump. I’ve had to explain this on a group ride before and the person who asked me about it wondered if it was some kind of suspension as well.
Funny - before buying my bike I saw the “tubes” on tons of other Mosaic bikes and had no idea what it was. I finally learned it was a pump. They have a paint to match option so I added it. Definitely convenient, I leave it on maybe 75% of rides when I don’t feel like carrying my small electric pump.
Hey, what’s the name of it? I want one! That is super cool.
They are made by Silca! I believe that proper fit might be dependent on frame size/style but not entirely sure. Just something you may want to check.
As Trix8806 noted, the frame pumps on Mosaic and No. 22, like mine, are Silca Impero Ultimate frame pumps (or at least the internals are from Silca with the tubes possibly from the builder). You should check the size chart on the Silca site to make sure you order the correct pump size. There’s some adjustability in each size, though, to make it fit your frame.

First ride back after an easy week due to injury. Leg (gracilis muscle and pes anserinus tendon) are still tight but apparently good enough to bike. I’ve slowly ramped up duration and intensity the last four days and tried some sweet spot work today. If the leg doesn’t get worse then I’ll attempt threshold on Wednesday and VO2 on Friday.
Even though I associated this workout with Antelope -4 (4 x 10) I ended up doing 4 x 12.5. HR was in the threshold range, though, but I guess that’s what two weeks of endurance only will do.
New tire day! I replaced my 28mm Schwalbe Pro One TLEs with 30mm. Also opted for tan sidewalls. When they first started becoming popular a few years ago I wasn’t a fan but I have definitely come around to them and really like they way they look with the lava red frame!
Its supposed to be a deload week for me (masters fan). So I probably shouldn’t have done last nights group ride. It was only supposed to be 1 minute turns but I was getting cold so I upped it to circa 5min turns for me when we hit the headwind. Lol and they became more frequent as numbers dwindled.
It was actually windier today but I was back to my scheduled recovery ride and the inside ankle seems to have settled down ![]()
The longish flat/straight Holme Road gives an indication best. 140w Southbound for 20.4mph; 137w Northbound for 16.1mph.

1-min VO2 at 120-125% with 2-min recoveries. Started to really feel it toward the end. Not sure if it was due to the poor air quality or having to take a week super easy on the heels of a recovery week due to a leg injury. Either way, got 'er done.
