Where did you workout (bike, run, etc.,) OUTSIDE today? (2026)

@Trix8806 good luck. Hope it goes well for you.

As for “TrainerRoad Gymnastics,” you can ‘pin’ a ride before moving it around and it will stay as-is.

Nothing spectacular but I popped out to Washingley Cross Roads for today’s recovery ride as I reckoned, it was windy enough that I’d get blown back along the A15 at a reasonable speed despite being in the cool down (drivers seem to take liberties when you are going too slow). Its 95% lightly trafficked rural roads until you get to the A15 which connects southern Pottyboro to the A1 Motorway. Annoyingly there was a bit of moisture in the air and now I am back its sunshine!

Thanks, I wasn’t aware of that pinning ride feature!

Completed Eisenhower this morning. My 4 year old usually comes into the garage where my trainer is set up and sits on the treadmill next to me, often hoping I might sneak her a gummy bear. She came in this morning during the last interval for a bit of extra cheering, also understanding I was unable to speak  Definitely a bit of a cheat code to make sure I don’t quit!

@Trix8806 well done! My youngest (now ten) does something similar. My Zwift avatar still wears the AlienWear jersey because he liked it when he was much younger and I’ve never changed it. He still asks me to pedal through Titans Grove because he likes seeing the dinosaurs, too!

1h Solo Ride, just an easy spin in the London heatwave

This week’s gravel ride on the top of the hill I really wanted to try and pic from trail run.

Last night’s train was 10mins late so I just made the group ride. I had decided to join the social ride anyway and stick to my AI adapted training plan. Given I had ridden every day since last Wednesday it had adapted to a recovery. It was a bit of a furnace (34deg C ish), so I was just about warm, Im glad I wore winter socks though.

Today was just the usual recovery ride down to the Conington Airfield Loop. It had nicely cooled down.

Hope this is the hottest part of the summer up there.

Working on running technique

Group ride 77km +920m, 17 segment PRs despite hanging off the back 90% of the time

Rode an offroad doubletrack loop in the state park behind the house, rain was coming so didn’t do my usual 30mile Nat Forest ride and stayed closer to home. Quit after 5 loops 12.2 miles of low z3, when the radar showed I was about to get swallowed by rain. Of course, after a shower and lunch, it hasn’t rained 2 hours later  Rode my rigid Surly to give the new racks some vibration testing, and dialed the tire pressure down (hadn’t gone tubeless on this, my only rigid bike, until a couple weeks ago).

I had Jumba Kang in my diary and being World Bicycle Day I took it out doors. It was a bit blustery and busy with traffic for the first 1/3. I was thinking to go later after rush hour but it was forecast to be wet. Typically its not rained since rush hour.

I have the badge from today’s trail run for Global running day. Looks like both running and cycling share the same day.

So I took a dirt nap

My front tire washed out right before a switchback. It got grip again, but I rode through the green stuff instead of the left edge and realized I had to bail or risk going for a REAL mountain bike ride lol

Another fist full of front brake and down we went!

Still, finished my workout

Kinda an outside workout last night for me. It was supposed to be 5mins on circa 25mins off in a 6 man pace line but it soon became apparent that most folk in the group couldn’t handle it and I ended up doing longer and more frequent stints on the front. Especially, when we started going back into the wind. It was only a 22mph wind but in the flat fens that is a hurricane. My Windsock.com reckons the wind slowed me by 2mins 31secs.

Nothing major but Pettit-2 was in my plan and it had turned nice so I took it out doors. Given it was a recovery ride and I suffer from chemo induced Reynards/ Neuropathy I wore Winter Gloves, Winter Socks, Winter longs, Winter Jacket and Overshoes. Every other cyclist I saw was in summer kit though. It was still nice when I got back so I went out for a wee walk.
