What workout did you do today? (2026)

Lucky you!

I don’t drink caffeine at all actually, so it won’t be that thank goodness. I used to have some very occasionally but found that one 11am tea would have me struggling to fall asleep 12 hours later so just quit entirely years ago.

I used to get exertion headaches when I was a lot younger. My GP came up with the helpful suggestion to “stop strenuous exercise".

I don’t get them any more, but - annoyingly - can’t remember what, if anything, I’ve changed in the intervening 30 years.

Anyway, there’s lots of stuff online. I expect the quality of said “stuff" is highly variable, though.

I used to get bad migraines in my teens, to the extent of me blacking out in the worst ones. And that all stopped in my 20s (30years ago), docs couldn’t say why but my guess is I started wearing glasses.

Mine just told me it was “my cross to bear". It’s reassuring to hear you’ve aged out of them. I’ll be looking forward to the same!

On Saturday I had my usual group ride but the first half (35miles) was pretty relaxed so the ride took 30mins longer than normal which put me into the red (RLGL wise). Then Sunday only the slowest rider in the group said he was turning up and it was raining first thing so I thought I’d better go and keep him company. So the Sunday Ride was an hour longer than normal too. Even with Monday being a rest day that triggered my anaerobic Tuesday workout to be downgraded, I decided to skip the adaption though and stay with the Anaerobic workout (Norraard). After having done it I’m quite glad I skipped the adaptation.

Well, I did my workout today, but Zwift royally screwed it up. The FIT file is fully corrupt and will not sync. Even the companion app can’t help me. Anybody know what to do in this situation so that it doesn’t screw up the new TrainerRoad AI? I seem to recall you used to be able to mark that a workout was complete, but I cannot find that option anymore. I’m guessing it was removed?

Try uploading it to gotoes.org
It’s supposed to be able to fix some corrupt data.

Thanks for the link. I tried it and that helped to clarify what happened. It only ever recorded 3 seconds of the activity. Unfortunately looks like I lost all the workout data for today.

Try going into the TR calendar & changing it to TR Outside. That’s the only ride type I see that offers the Mark As Completed option

In my plan tonight was Gora an Endurance workout.

It was a bit hot in the pain hall tonight butI had the fans on low/sleep mode so I could listen to the Tour Down Under.

Well, Thursday has arrived, so it was time for my “Hoo Boy - I Hope You’re Ready For This” workout … previously known as Threshold.

Mercifully, the fact that the AI has given me an FTP number that is perhaps (deffo) on the high side means that instead of over/unders it gave me a WL 2.5 set of under/unders.

Felt great. Was predicted to find it either Hard or Very Hard almost equally. Rated it Hard. Had good legs today (see below) and 8 minute intervals should be eminently do-able even if they’re slightly above FTP.

I got 48 minutes of solid muscular endurance work in. 100g of carbs, almost all of it in the first hour.

Felt sufficiently good after that to quickly have a banana and three Biscoff biscuits and load up Pettit for some extra endurance riding.

Rated it Moderate, which really just reflects the fact that I’d already done 90 minutes of work, so my HR was maybe 7 or 8 bpm above where it should/would have been otherwise.

Predicted FTP unaffected by either/both workouts.

6x3:00 at 450-460w on mtb trails, 3:00 rests
15 minute break than 0:15 efforts at around 1000w, my sprint is still bad but especially when fatigued barely breaking 1200w is rough.

weight is 68kg riding on steep and loose MTB trails, one of my fav vo2 workouts, short and sweet.

A VO2max workout (Julius Caesar +2) in my calendar tonight whilst watching the Glasgow Celtic game. Lol, you can tell when the pre game talked and the game kicked off and my cadence dropped. I probably should have switched of ERG at that point as the Suito doesn’t seem to up the resistance enough when my cadence is lower.

Maybe I should start using my watch instead of my chest strap so I get to capture temperature too. Today felt like it ended a good 5℃ higher than it started.

Thanks for the inspiration.

I dual record with my Garmin Edge to monitor temperature.

It also gives me a little more info on pedalling dynamics.

it gave me a WL 2.5 set of under/unders.

Your HR for the “under-under” makes me wonder (hah, it rhymes) if I am rating my threshold workouts too lightly.

What is your max HR currently? I think mine is mid-low 190s, so average hr for this would be around 75%.

Today was the first time I have sweated through my headband so thoroughly that my eyebrows started raining. It was definitely a good workout, but I ended feeling like I had more to give had it been required.

Well the Beta testing is over I don’t have to worry about showing workouts anymore

I’m on a recovery week, roll Brecherspitz.

For some reason Zwift workout mode on my PC has not been working so been doing these on my iPad

Didn’t have a Zwift snafu like Tuesday this time. Not too tough of a workout. A bit challenging mentally, but overall pretty decent. Been a while since I did such long steady state efforts.

Antelope +2 on the local hill. TR app dropped out at the end of the 3rd interval, wouldn’t let me resume. :sad_but_relieved_face: Pity. I like using the app. The blue bars are an awesome virtual accountability partner.

Had been dual-recording on Lezyne so could complete the workout without the app. Continued on my commute to work thereafter.
