What workout did you do today? (2021, part 2)

Thanks :+1:. I didn’t get that option. That might mean it’s something other than a struggle and just a lesser pass :man_shrugging:.

Interesting. My only other thought is to complete the survey again. In the app load the completed workout, click the three dots, select Update Survey. Good luck.

Oops, wrong graphic … or not. This actually describes my performance perfectly.

OK, here’s the right one. Legs were a little tired from lifting yesterday (not that I did anything too abnormal … just tired). I think mainly that the progression from 5x7 on Thursday to 5x9 today was too much, even if Thursday’s workout was at 105% whereas today’s was over/unders. No adaptations (even downward, which is what I was expecting). :man_shrugging:

Very happy with the last 2 days workouts.
Sat. McAdie +1 threshold
Sun McGregor -4 sweetspot.

Felt strong on them both. SSMV2 week2 I think.

Kabati

Felt good to complete this one after yesterday’s dumpster fire, even if I was supposed to because AT marked it as Achievable.

So good to knock out a good one after a less than perfect session.

Some days you just don’t have it … and man, oh man did I not have it today.

I was carrying a fair bit of fatigue, but I just couldn’t find the mindset to dig deep and push passed it. Busy weekend, and a lot of anxiety/uncertainty with the pending announcement of postponement or not of my A-Race this afternoon.

Haeckel Threshold 2.6

At the start I really didn’t think I’d get through this, but appears TrainNow knows what my limits are, did find it very hard. Also found some well timed Zwift climbs towards the end to put my head in the game for the efforts required.

Ramp Test today to start my winter training ! 304 to 303 happy with that considering some injuries and inconsistent training . This time last year i was 283 so hoping to get a similar winter and move to the 320 mark or 4.5W/kg

Over under progression continues with Mount Wood

Back to back days over the weekend after 5 full days of no riding due to picking up a cold.

Was expecting to struggle but felt great :man_shrugging:t2:

I guess taking some time off allowed for some positive adaptations :grinning:

Tallac-1 was in my calendar tonight and I decided to do it in the TR interface. Lol I blame Chad, I got to the middle of the 3rd interval and he said something about sitting or standing so I left the TT position and stood up the cadence which had been a smooth 90rpm + fell apart then and the rest of the session was a bit up and down :joy:

AT must’ve liked it though its bumped my PLs up and tomorrow night’s work out. I’m at a stage where yes its doable but probably at a 60-70rpm grind

Eclipse-3 was in my calendar tonight and I decided to take it to the Virtual out doors on the slopes of Ventoux. I decided to slide the trainer feedback down though so I was in charge of the cadence. I did the first 20 min SS interval at a high cadence, in the TT and sprinted a bit at one of the timed sections. To keep the HR down I did the 2nd 20mins of SS at a low cadence with a mixture of standing, sitting and the TT position.

Very pleased about this one. I had marked my two previous sweet spot workouts (Tray Mountain +1, a 7.7; and Round Bald +2, a 5.7) as “easy”, so AT adapted me up to Redondo +3 at 9.2. I like to do two-hour workouts and I wanted to push myself some more, so I selected Three Fools as an alternate, and found it challenging but manageable.

I’m very, very happy with AT so far; I don’t think I would have attempted a 10.0 workout before it. I can’t wait to do a ramp test after my recovery week next week.

Missed workouts over the weekend so this was the first in more than a few days. I’m seeing a trend where before the warm-up and during the idea of completing the workout is in question. But, somewhere into the first set that disappears. Not sure what I was thinking when Chad’s workout text mentioned between sets 2 and 3 that the sets should be “challenging” so I nudged things up 2%. And it almost broke me on the last set where my cadence dropped 5rpm and was a major struggle to maintain. Finished it! Let’s see what the next workout brings!

Pioneer +2 Sweetspot 6.7

Started the Zwift KOM climb so increased to 108% to ride with a group. Last third of climb they started to pull away so I wisely turned it back down to 100%, possibly avoiding a blow up! Nice to put a bit of fatigue in legs at start and see if I could still finish session.

Ramp test day

+5w which feels about right.
I’ll take that :ok_hand:t2:

Temple was in my calendar tonight but after 5 straight days of reasonable intensity cycling I thought I’d have a look at ‘Alternates’. I did but after looking I decided to down a black coffee and tackle the original workout. I think I went OK, although I did cheat a wee bit by only doing 20mins in the TT position preferring mostly to sit up and keep my eyes on the targets (power & cadence) only dropping into the extensions for the occasional 1min peak effort.

Only annoying thing about a longer workout my hair is still damp after the shower so I’ll be later to bed :joy:

Pettit Endurance 3.2

As I’m only doing 3 TR workouts a week (doing running on 3 other days) I allow myself little efforts on the Zwift world. Had a blast over Titans grove and the undulating parts heading down the other side.

Did x108 PRs for year between 2&4 minutes and these weren’t all out, so happy. :grinning: Looking back I’m still 50watts down on where I was 2 years ago

…but was doing so much more volume and I’m other side of 50 now  so I must be degenerating fast

Got bored towards end of workout, the last 15 minutes dragged, but didn’t quit, got it done so some mental success there too.
