What workout did you do today? (2021, part 1)

Originally scheduled as Wright Peak -1 but I changed it to Wright Peak +2 last night before bed. Woke up this morning and decided to skip all three 5-minute recovery periods. Turned it into a 1x137 @ 89% (was trying to shoot for 90%). High cadence for the 1st half and regular cadence for the 2nd half.

That’s rather impressive. Chapeau.

Looks like Augusta is on the plan, in two weeks. The CritHV sequence is Bondcliff (SS@88%) → Torbert (SS@90%)->Augusta (SS@95%). I’m guessing if you did Augusta last week Bondcliff will be easy?!

Its amazing what a difference a head band (or lack of) makes. I got a couple of minutes into my warm up and realised I’d forgotten mine. I seemed to run with %HR that was circa 2% higher as lockdown hair fell into my eyes. The Mount Baldy insult definitely wasn’t appropriate

. I sometimes can just slick my hair back and out of my eyes with sweat. Lol.

Nice work on the ride!

Why do they say we lose watts during specialty? These workouts are HARD!

Dang. I almost want to go back to build!

That looks like Elwell/Sierra/Sonora all in one! Great work. Are you in a speciality phase?

First time riding after work for a few weeks (I prefer late morning). Eclipse in wk4 of SSBHV1. SS has been feeling more and more comfortable recently, so decided to push a bit harder on the pedals for the last 10’. Happy!

More Sprint Interval Training. Today’s was Striped +6.

Like last week, backpedaled all the recovery valleys except for the 15 seconds preceding each sprint to get the Neo to behave. Char-broiled by the end.

But … clean running shower drains without scary monster hair clogs …(dream).:rofl::rofl:

Have been a bit erratic with my workouts, currently building a rocker board and epoxy coatings were taking a while to cure and knew my fans would blow dust in the garage and ruin the finish. So my recovery week became a week off… picked back up again now everything is dry, another side coating will be done soon so going to have to plan another 48-72 hour break. Currently doing two weeks on and a week recovery (off!), seems to be good for the body.
Last night was going well until my fan blew over my water bottle in the MS Surface direction, splashed keyboard, so detached it to dry. Didn’t realise I’d knocked power cable off…ten minutes later everything disappeared with out warning, well I should have picked up on the jerkiness of the graphics…doh! Would take to long to get everything repowered backup, I’d be cold again so called it a day…

So tonight’s Z2 was started with a threshold effort to make up for missing final two intervals. All felt good, the 25min over FTP effort on ICU predicted an increase in FTP so heading in right direction again, maybe I’ll get good news on next ramp.
Pettit not

My 4th best time up the Zwift KOM on a heavy TT bike and wasn’t at my limit, but will have to see if I recover for tomorrows workout, leg muscles still twitching several hours later.

I just got a barbell, so did squats and deadlifts yesterday. Not enough recovery along with Spencer +2 on Mon. I’ll give it another go when I’m rested.

Base phase of course! :joy:. I told myself it was good building block for Mary Austin, Leconte and Lamarck.

Ebbetts for me today:

This is the first week of SSB LV2 following the ramp test Tuesday. With my FTP going up, and LV2 being harder than LV1 in any case, I was well tested. Did OK, but that was defintely the hardest I’ve worked for a while.

2nd time in 2 weeks for Phoenix. Followed by a short brick. Legs a bit tired after yesterday but settled in after a bit. Funny how you just get used to sitting at tempo.

Can’t say I enjoyed the run too much. Roads extremely slippy - too much concentration being used to avoid faceplanting.

Tray Mountain today. Extra happy with this especially the third interval feeling easier than the second. Have been doing mostly traditional base MV, maybe too soon to really tell but I think I’m a good responder to the longer slower approach. Post-workout I feel great. Day off tomorrow and then 5.5 hours between Saturday and Sunday to finish the last big week of TB3

Dade +4 … but I did every interval at 120% and I did 3 extra intervals. And some z2 with anaerobic efforts chucked in

As a longer course, steady state rider, it’s almost comical how easy I find ones like Tray Mountain vs even 5 interval VO2 stuff. Those absolutely destroy me, but these are fairly pleasant.
