Dear heavens. Plan Builder is confused, that is broken, @IvyAudrain?!
That’s evil. Leconte, leconte and top it off with wright peak…haha.
I must admit I suspect it will be … challenging
Running late as all get out this morning, so had to cut it short, but I still think it was a productive workout.
Had Eclipse on tap but opted for Tray Mountain instead. HR comfortably sitting between 78-83% max throughout the reps. Big confidence boost!
Berryessa this morning. It’s my third “sprint” workout for the training block and it felt good. Surprisingly, my last sprint was my best sprint… I’ll take it😙
Sunday was a cheeky climb on Rouvy, was testing, so I bumped the TR Vo2 session on Monday and did a flattish 20km instead. Unfortunately I couldn’t get away with putting the Vo2 off any longer and it was as horrible as I expected it to be. Onwards.
Week 2 of hard start VO2 max fun. Set off with a 5 minute interval to blow away the cobwebs and ended up averaging 442w (121%) breaking my old PR by 18w - nice way to start the workout! The remaining intervals were 4 mins with 4 min RBIs. When you’re gasping for air wondering if there’s a chance you might even pass out, that’s when you know you nailed it
After reading up on others experiences with ramp test and a bit of digging into numbers on intervals.icu I started doing workouts at 98% and voila, that little change seems to make all the difference. I can now do threshold without wrecking myself completely. Vo2 like Taylor - 2 seems to work ar 100%.
Next up Palisade on Thursday to confirm
Spencer +2 today. I was going to do it on the trainer but my wife has a migraine so I did it outside on the single speed fat bike meaning no power data - https://www.trainerroad.com/app/career/bobw/rides/98889164-spencer-2-tr-outdoor-workout
There’s a bit of a thaw at the moment so quite a bit of the ground was soft going. Also with the bike being single speed most of the intervals were done standing The intervals weren’t quite as hard as I remember them being but on that bike on that terrain I couldn’t go much harder.
I’ve got Lamarck next so I think I’ll try and find a steady hill on the road that I can hold threshold on (and use a different bike!) for that.
Nice power numbers!
Fasted Zone 1/2 run this morning keeping my HR below 145 bpm:
Followed by TR this afternoon…I had to pull out the rock music:
Hey! WC may have some trouble as of Jan 1st related to Adobe Air support, but not to worry! There are fixes. Check out this post:
OR just feel free to email support (support@trainerroad.com) and they’ll give you the full rundown of troubleshooting steps specific to your device! Cheers!
EDIT! Apologies, I read PlanBuilder but saw Workout Creator LOL. We are constantly working on plans and updating them to make sure we’re meeting athlete’s needs, it very well could be a mistake.
I’ll bring that up to the team.
Finally got on my bike yesterday after my holiday lazy fest…
And managed to fail:
Undeterred, I pressed forward this morning:
A mighty 2w increase… but after falling apart in the last week of SSBMV2 three weeks ago, and not much more than festive eating and some z2 riding since, I’ll take it. Going to repeat SSB2 now rather than heading into build as Lockdown 3.0 here in the UK means I have plenty of time before I’m riding outside again in any meaningful sense.
Maybe that’s a mistake! That sounds horrible.
