Yesterdays workout, 60Min@92,5%, SS nr 8/25 in my upped SSBHV2, feeling good but slept terrible last few days so hopefully i can keep gaining.
429Min off SS(91%) work last 7 days, hoping to increase to 450-475 in week 5.
The Assiomas being close to the H3 shouldnāt be surprising assuming both are not defective and also zeroād properly.
The Stages being off a lot or a little is also not expected. You have a L only. Short of having perfect 50/50 L/R power, you can expect your Stages to be off. How much will depend on your L/R difference. Itās a limitation of using a L only PM.
Sell the Stages or quit looking at its numbers. The Assiomas are what you should be focused on since you can use them indoor and outdoors giving you numbers meaningful for comparison since they are from the same PM (Assiomas).
Stages is done, I just ran them side by side to check. Did a ramp test with the pedals yesterday so thatās what Iām using moving forward
Tallac. A long day at work and a late start today, felt good but HR was a bit higher than it should have been. Carillon +2 tomorrow, weāll see how that goes before thinking about changing anything
I like to add a 1hr sweet spot workout on the Thursday of rest week for this exact reason. Nothing too taxing, Mount Hale or Antelope -5 are favorites, just something to get the legs moving a bit. Maybe doing the +1 variants of endurance workouts to add short sprints would do the same. I still wait for the next calendar week for the ramp test personally, but try one on Wednesday and if you donāt like the result try again the following Monday!
Thanks⦠that sounds like a good call. While Iām new to TR and truly structured training, I have used 4-week blocks consistently in the past, and have always found a week of rest to be too much. Canāt imagine why that would change now⦠is my thinking.
The TR plans get harder with each 4 week block so that rest week is to get you fresh to go into the following weeks with more TSS. Iāve followed the plan as it says and had success, once you move further into the plan youāll love the rest weeks
Also if youāre referencing outdoor TSS numbers, whole different animal inside.
Too busy at work, had to cut it short. Think Iām going to turn off erg going forward, too hard searching for max effort on the sprints. Need to treat this like an outside workout.

After a few days off as I felt like a cold was coming on my hot date with Mary is back on for Saturday with Tallac + 3 on Sunday followed by the penultimate week of SSB2MV
Looking forward to my next ramp test in Christmas Eve.
Dear Santa
About my FTP, if you could see your way toā¦
My headspace went from gah this is awful, it shouldnāt feel this hard, youāre clearly not cut out for this, sell your trainer to I AM SUPERWOMAN with lightning speed at about the half-hour mark. The 5-second sprinty things were weirdly fun. (This is neuromuscular training, right?) I like how they tricked my brain into thinking 94% was recovery.
The weekly Slowtwitch group ride on Zwift. This is a reward Iām starting to look forward to⦠Nice tight pack on the flats, then we ended up 4-5 riders almost like in a real paceline. NP is close to 90% of FTP, so itās no easy going.
I canāt even begin to imagine holding up in the faster groups.
Are you somehow reading what goes on in my brain every workout morning or something? Except I want to sell the bike as well. And ponder the social acceptability of giving old bike shorts vs throwing them in the garbage.
I know right? Like I probably wouldnāt wear used shorts, but if somebody else would who am I to judge? Best just have a garage sale for the whole thingātrainer, bike, kit, tools, all of it. Clean sweep.
I love your workout synopsis. You crack me up. Would be great if you wrote the in-workout text. Iād never finish a session because Iād be too busy laughing!! ![]()
Carson, on the rollers, after a rare eve out. Pushed through the slight hangover, feel pretty good now!
I did almost exactly half of Berryessa then the power cut. Now sitting here in the dark, waiting for an engineer to fix whatever is wrong at street level. If only I had a self powering trainer like a Tacx Neo ![]()
