Just bought a second set of the 26c. A year ago I tried the 5000 TL and on the 10th ride had to insert a tube to get home. These Pirelli have about 7-8W penalty, but in 72 rides and nearly 2000 miles I haven’t had any issues.
Right now there are 10 “wet spots” on the rear tire:
I’d bet at least a few of those would have stopped the 5000 TL. Small watt penalty, roll and corner well, and just keep going and going without having to stop and fix. Perfect training tire!
