Can you expand on the idea of “improving my mental game” a bit?

The Mental Game

I’m on my second athlete-centric book, ‘Endure’, (first was ‘How Bad Do You Want It?’). Obviously the big take away from these types of books is that the brain and mind are major factors in deciding performance, e.g. actual fatigue, perceived effort, etc. My open question is: do you do any type of mental training and if so, what does it entail (above and beyond reading the popular books) and has it produced a measurable/material difference in your performances? Thanks!

Mantras - what's yours?

Curious as to what Mantras (or other thoughts/techniques) people use for training, racing, keeping focus, or getting through that difficult interval/workout etc. I’ve seen a few mentioned recently - and it would be nice to collect some new/old/well used ones for reference or inspiration. Feedback appreciated.

Training Mental Toughness for Long Efforts

Hello, TR! Great product, great community. 5 Stars and the bar by which I measure all other platforms. I am training for the Climb to Kaiser which is a California road race of 150mi with 15K feet of climbing. Really, most of the climbing is within a 60mi block of the course. I am on this training plan: SSB 1/2 (repeating 2), Sustained Power Build then Century Specialty and I am confident that this will get me to where I need to be physiologically.
