Love how thereās even a word for this now ![]()
Itās everyone chasing stupid live sports driving up costs and driving down movie / TV Shows. Put stupid sports on its own subscription, and make sports fans cover the full cost.
Ask our UK brethren how that worked out for them with cycling coverage. ![]()
The problem is that live sports drives subscription adoptionā¦and in a world with more platform choices and flattening demand, they have no choice but to chase live sports.
Make sports an add-on, for those of us who donāt watch mainstream sports that drive the cost donāt have to pay for them.
I hear ya, and donāt disagreeā¦but the numbers only work if you spread the pain around to the entire subscriber base.
Iāve said many many times that I would love if I could just buy a subscription to āAll Sportsā. I would then use rabbit ears for local news. I have zero need for the other 200 channels I pay for.
I read streaming services make more on the ad supported tiers than those who pay for no-ads. The whole streaming thing is pretty crazy. Now you pay for a service to show you commercials? How did we get here? ![]()
