I’d hazard a guess that you’d also drop those 1.5kg+change back down again by mid week assuming you eat well and can fit in some decent TR sessions??? I was out at a friends Sat night and over drank and ate well, but won’t get on the scales until Tues/Wed
Yep, in all likelihood it should be back on track. I’m not overly worried about it
Not a great weigh in, but I think I had a solid week and the gain is just week to week variance. Fully in the habit of tracking calories now, which I think has been really helpful. Rode the bike a ton over Independence Day weekend and burned a bunch of calories, and I don’t think I’ve eaten all of them back. Probably will rest a bit this week and do a ramp test to see how my power level is doing.
@Bbt67 copying all your formulae in the google sheets, assuming you don’t object??
No I don’t mind at all.
Edit just note I have change the weight loss/gain to look at the starting weight column B now we have added that column
My weight hasn’t dropped in the past few weeks though I’ve ridden more and am eating better. My clothes fit better and people comment that I’ve lost weight. I know my waist is about an 1" smaller. Not sure why the scale doesn’t reflect this?
Tissue Type vs Avg Density Value (g/ml)|
Fat = 0.9094 g/cm3
Muscle = 1.0599 g/cm3
You are getting dense (not in the insult to intellect sort of way, rather the actual density HAHAHA).
lol, I’ll take that as a compliment! I hope that is what’s happening because I don’t know anyone that has gained weight by cycling.
184.5lbs=83.6…
went the wrong direction this week. We had birthdays plus holiday = to lots and lots of high calorie foods. Really nothing healthy. Then the leftovers. I guess I can call it a cheat week. Enough excuses, will get back on track this week ![]()
I added my “BMR, W/kg & Calorie Calculator” to the spreadsheet if anyone wants to play.
Enter values in the orange/salmon? cells.
Let me know if you find error as I had to convert if from Excel (that I generally use)
Only works for Mifflin St Jeor Equation (1990) at the moment as I haven’t finished the formula for Revised Harris-Benedict Equation (1984) and Original Harris-Benedict Equation, might at some point.
92.7kg yesterday so gained a little over the weekend but a 1.3kg loss last week.
Happy with that.
OK, Another week and a total loss of 81.6kg so far. Roughly the equivalent of:
- 1,046,154 Bees
- 1 Kangaroo
- 14,390 US Quarters (worth $3,597.50)
- 58,000 Paper Clips
Good job to those who have stuck with us, even if there are a few ups in the downs. Keep up the work and you will get there.
Updated the (Combo Box) drop down can now be used to select which BMR formula is used to calculate your daily calories expenditure without a deficit, and if you enter a deficit in the deficit cell B27 give the calories allowance for that given deficit.
Also add the prediction for future date and a recommended marco breakdown.
Just a bit of fun, not to be taken too seriously.
Just put my details on the spreadsheet and wanted to thank you for putting it together and for everyone else for participating. I think it’s an awesome idea. Like many people I imagine I know what I should be doing but don’t always do it, especially with the upheaval of the last few months. Hopefully back on track now.
There is a segment in episode 259 of the podcast at 1hr 23 on healthy habits vs addictions. Amber is, as usual, excellent and I mean to watch it again with this project in mind. Good luck everyone!
So. Did someone delete all of our data and put in theirs?
Not initially judging but if so. Not cool.
Well, that did happen. I was able to add the old data back in. I assume it was accidental. I was able to recover a previous version and copy the data back in. I think I got everyone BUT please check. Let me know if your data is not in there. I will try to figure it out.
NEW USERS, to join the challenge just scroll down to the bottom of the list and add your name in Column A, Starting weight in Column B, then Goal Weight in Column C. Then in each week enter your progress.
I’m sure it was an honest mistake. Thanks @Justafatguy
I noticed this morning I was going to tell you I retrieve a copy as well.
There is no stopping progress, baby!
PM’d you.
Thank goodness for version history ![]()
