Just bitten the bullet and purchased a Vacmaster. After reading the comments in this thread, it seemed like the only sensible thing to do

I just ordered one from Cleva. With TR discount and shipment to Sweden it was £78. Can’t wait to try it out. Thanks for the recommendation everyone!

After a gym bike session this week with no fan at all it definitely puts it into perspective

I’ve recently been caught carrying my Vacmaster to the gym

Got my Vacmaster set up last Friday. Good Lord, I was not prepared! Tried it on setting two and it was like cycling into a hurricane. I actually got into the drops to get out of the jet. Had to stop and drop it down to setting one

I’m not sure that setting three will ever be required in the UK.

Lol - never use it on less than full power! In the UK!:rofl::rofl: great isn’t it!

My sweat towel was bone dry at the end of the session! All of my sweat had either dried on my face or been blown to the back of the garage. I’ve never experienced anything quite like it

I just got one of these, tried it tonight, gave up after 20mins and went back to my large floor fan. Tried all sorts of positions, angles, heights etc. For me it just doesn’t cover enough body surface area inc face to keep me cool. I guess the fact some people have 2, 3 or even 4 kinda shows that!

I have one, it’s on the floor in front of my front wheel and pushes air over my torso. That works well for me.

Got one of these last week with the discount, working well so far.
I thought it was funny reading through the reviews on their website though, nearly all the recent reviews are people saying they use it for indoor cycling and not carpet drying  I wonder what percentage of their market is now TrainerRoad users.

Have you tried putting it 3-4 metres away from your body?
The airstream covers a much bigger area then, which might be enough to make it work for you.
Personally i had to stack some old books under it to get the angle just right as well.

I tried it in front of the front wheel, at various “levels” with different bits of wood used to change the angles. Do you have a pic of where you place yours please?

My setup might not help you that much.
I have the Vacmaster on the desk in front of me, about 2m away, angled so it covers the area between my handlebars and my neck.
And an oldschool fan right behind my laptop blowing straight at my face.

But when I stand behind my bike with only the vacmaster on I can feel it over a much larger area, covering my hips and face in one go.

We have sold 29 air movers to TrainerRoad users via the discount code in the last 30 days out of a total of 112 units.
So you guys currently account for 25% of our total sales of that product and we are having to increase production in the factory!

I’ve also started using mine for drying laundry when the weather hasn’t been so great!

If you really want to kick up sales, I’d suggest looking into the option of a remote for power and fan level control. That’s the only thing missing from making these the best and easiest option for training use.

I’m considering 2nd one of these, Cleva one. If you had 2, how would you position them? I have one at the moment and recently tried it on max setting on one of zwift races, it made huge difference, would having 2 make much difference, what do you think guys?
