Thanks! .3mf would also work!
That looks really good I bought 2 so called diffusers but these are smooth with no internal vanes so don’t make any difference really. Yours looks so much better, would you be interested in making to sell them? I could do with 2 that actually work.
Never understood why cleva never made these or a stand that the fan can sit on which offers more adjustment then flat or 45degrees.
Thanks. I certainly wasn’t planning to make and sell these. I’m not sure I have the spare time to do that sort of thing, and it’s possibly not economical to do so, because it takes about 12 hours to print etc. I’m an aerodynamicist in my day job, so I’m okay with designing this sort of stuff, as a hobby, but I have no idea how to commercialise it.
I’ll share the STL and 3mf files once I’ve got them sorted, but I realise that doesn’t help the majority of people that don’t have 3D printers.
Region dependent, but there are more places available now that process and ship parts for a fee, for people without a printer on hand. You upload the file, get a quote and can buy right there and it ships when done. My company did that a number of times before we got a printer.
Would certainly be interested in the files when available. These are what I had made last time but they make little to no difference and need some internal vanes
Thanks so much for the interesting read - it was a pleasure to dive into this on your blog. I’d definitely also be interested to get it printed at a local shop or an online service. Great work!
Hi everyone, as promised, here’s a link the 3mf, STL and STEP files for the diffuser:
I think that should be accessible to everyone. You might need to create a MakerWorld account, I’m not sure. If anything is wrong or doesn’t work, please let me know, either via this forum or in MakerWorld. I’m still relatively new to 3D printing and learning CAD, having only got my printer two months ago, so I’m still figuring a few things out.
Thank you I’m trying to organise this from my phone and think iv got it to work at a reasonable cost.
Can I just check does the file below contain both parts?
That’s right, yes, all the files contain both parts.
Just to update I received my part today, it makes a massive difference to diffusing the air and slowing down its speed. So thank you for taking the time to make the file.
Any one in the uk looking at this I received a 10% off coupon with my order so may help out.
Parts were received all pre trimmed so literally took 5minutes to swap over. Only issue I had was I ordered 2 lots of 2 pieces but only received one complete set however the printers have replied straight away to say they will send another piece.
Great! Glad it works okay.
Looks great.
What was the approximate cost?
Mine cost me £55 inc shipping for 2 sets. I could’ve got them cheaper but went for a local company, used a site called craftcloud and it’s like a comparison site you upload the file then all the other companies price on it
Would you mind sharing the model? Would be really interested in getting this for myself.
Hey, sorry for late reply, I was travelling without my PC.
Unfortunately, this was one of my very first designs, and can’t find the project (I think I might not have saved, and deleted the auto recover).
Anyway, today I would do this differently due to the release of the vacmaster vesa/tripod mount.
Sorry!
