Triathlon all but abandoned by TR

The issue here is not relying on power meters, it’s mixing power meters, which you should NEVER do and we’ve talked about hundreds of times.

Yeah I saw the pile on ST at least they admitted their company affiliation. One thing that legitimises them in my mind is that TrainerRoad provide synchronisation to them…but the fact no one talks about them here speaks volumes.

And as if by Internet Magic, I get a Beta testing sign up email shortly after posting this question :joy:

Ive signed up, so terms are I can’t talk about it…but I will say that their sign up is heavy on my commitment to them, and yet says not one single thing about what it will do for me.

And accordingly I can no longer speak about it! So don’t ask!

Oh lord, I thought the LS banging head against brick wall days were gone. I figured this out before I even bought one, what four years ago?

What I want to know now :grinning:is which one he races Zwift on next race!

In which case, use the Trail Run activity, and turn the VO2Max calculation off in the activity settings. You can turn it back on when you are on a firmer surface.

The funny part is that he used 2 or 3 sources for Zwift racing and was comparing them all the time to be legit as possible, at least in the pro races. I don’t think he’s been doing Zwift races since actual triathlons have been happening again and his training has been more focused so he may have caught it sooner if he had been Zwift racing still. :grinning:

All I want in the short term is for swims and runs to be uploaded, I’ll add the TSS manually if I have to but at least add them into the calendar automatically.

Me too! I asked in different thread if this was on the near term road map and this is the response I got:

Feels like from that response and all of the other comments they have made on these forums it is not close. They have never said that though, so I don’t want to put words in their mouths, just my feeling.

Add your voice to the thread @bfrostieone linked, we can but petition them.

The frustrating part is that they already have the ability to do this and have been doing it in the background already behind the scenes, but it sounds like they felt like they wanted to do more than just import them. However, like you mention just getting them into the calendar would be a great first step for a lot of us and we can handle the extra bits from there until they’re ready to devote more time to adding more automation/analysis behind it. Maybe they could even just put it as an Early Access option for those that want it that way for now.

That would require a new watch which isn’t going to happen until this one (920xt) kicks the bucket.

I haven’t opened the app for a while because I was tapering for my race and like my own taper plan vs what’s on TR. I opened it a couple days ago and it said “do you want to update plans?” I said “not now” because lots of people in the forum said they regretted it. But now I’m ready to update and see what it’s all about, but the update option is gone. How can I do the update now?

someone might have a better answer

but i just deleted the plan I was just about to start - I had just finished St George and then started a new one for my fall race using plan builder. It picked up all the changes.

My current plan technically ends on Saturday and I have a new one starting on Sunday. I wonder if the new one automatically includes the updates?

There are no ‘automatic’ updates. If you used Plan Builder to add your original plan, you can open the annotation for that from your calendar and use the “Update” button.

If you added a plan manually to the calendar, I think you have to delete and add the an again to get the latest version. But check to see if there is an “Update” option in any related annotation before, just in case.

See if you can find the original annotation on your calendar, where your plan started. Open that, and you may have an “Update” button there. If so, hit that and you should get all the new stuff.

Is the new plan the same for everyone or it’s tailored, just like it would be once AT is out for everyone?

All plans applied to the calendar are the same for everyone, with no tailoring unless you are currently in AT beta.

Those in the beta will likely get immediate adaptations, based upon their current Progression Levels, when they add a new plan via Plan Builder.

Best way imo is to delete your plan (and then any stray workouts) that starts on Sunday and build a new one using Plan Builder

I thought the new workouts looked easier, but it hasn’t felt very easy so far.
