I really like the look of that. Can you say a bit more about what model / year it is and the specification?
bought a Langster in 2009 for $500. That bike is one of the best friends I’ve ever had
Very Nice!. Could you comment on the differences you notice in handling, speed, etc?
Thanks
This is my bikes.
The Venge is the pure racebike and the Shiv is for fun solo rides and hopefully some TT races in 2021. The roubaix is new and i’m really looking forward to do some miles with it when the snow is gone. Hopefully it is well suited for gravel roads as well. All of my bikes are bought as framesets (size 58/59).
I had a crash with my Venge shortly after this picture and for safety i will change the fork and handlebar this winter. I’m still waiting for the fork… It will also get the new DT swiss ARC 1100 wheelset in 62mm and aerocoach chainrings in 54/40 .
Very nice S-Works gang gang you got there. I have/ have had all of those bikes and can attest that they are all great. Especially the Roubaix Team Edition is one of the most overlooked top-end bikes in the market imho.
Thanks. I have seen your collection and its really nice! I also read some of your posts about the roubaix and it helped me in my decision process. I was temped to buy a SL7 frameset, but its to similar to the Venge and I like the Venge even better. The roubaix offers something different and hopefully it will make my long rides even more comfortable.
For a Venge owner, an SL7 is pretty pointless. Also, the Venge is the (albeit slightly) better bike in my personal opinion.
I have 2019 Vitus Substance CRX. Love the bike. I don’t know what are your hip issues but the fist and only thing I have changed on that bike were stock saddle and alu seatpost. The ride now is as comfortable as it gets.
I’ve been impressed with both of your collections! I’d love to grab the roubaix team edition as well. Hopefully someday. What does that frame run?
Size or price?
Sorry, price. I just checked it out and saw its 4500. I would love to get that same color scheme in the future with them hiding the cables like they did for the SL7. I don’t know why, but I’ve become a cable snob. I hate seei g them stick out. I came close to returning my SL6 for the SL7 because of the cables. Cheesy, but it’s an asthetic thing for me.
I also have one, and it’s fantastic. Lots of power.
Hip issues stem from me falling off this and breaking my hip 6 weeks ago
Funny you say about switching out the seat post as first thing I thought of was this too to increase comfort, agree saddle is not a comfortable one for me either.
Carbon seatpost in 27.2 mm diameter are available in almost every shop, and with a saddle of you choice you will find the bike to be quite more comfortable. Lower the tyre pressure to ~25 psi for that Magic Carpet Ride™. ![]()

New (used) bike day:
Previous owner let a little bit of the maintenance go, so I’ll be doing a heavy cleaning, shock rebuild, dork disc removal, and general torqueing, but at half the price of a new bike, available now, and everything I wanted, I’m 100% happy! Thanks to @mcneese.chad for his help filling in my knowledge gaps.
My new to me Trek SC. Waiting on trying to find a good reasonable set of wheels. My wife has been very good to me and has approved all purchases. But she’s not loving that I want new wheels too. I bought a new tarmac this summer, power meter, upgraded the bars and added wheels for it. Now I’m back into the tri scene and am trying to pace myself. I’ll update the tarmac pic in the spring!
I always love seeing Montana built Strong’s in the wild ![]()
