I recently made some fit adjustments on my CAAD12 and honestly I just think it looks better now so I figured I’d share it again.

This is from a recent ride with more hills than I normally do, so I had my 11-40 cassette on there. I think it actually looks pretty rad with that big beefy cassette.

Interesting - the same group has a brand of alu bikes, a carbon frame repair service, and a carbon hockey stick product (this is Canada, after all).

It is a standard 2017 Giant Toughroad SLR, with added flat bar with som ergon grips and some plastic fenders. It does fit “big” wheels, so now in winter the bike is equipped with Schwalbe Ice Spiker 2.25’s.

Cannondale FSi in ‘gravel mode’ for the upcoming Dirty Reiver.

Sram Force shifting and TRP Spyre mechanical discs for slowing down.

There’s a danger I might not want to put the flat bars back on… (but then I’d need a new MTB!)

what is your front chainring size?

i just ruined my stock 42t on my bike and was thinking of using the 50t that i had but wasn’t sure whether the mech could clear 11-42t and a 50t. seems viable!

It’s a 50t! Works perfectly with the 11-40 cassette (and plenty of adjustment left). You shouldn’t have an issue with 11-42 at all.

awesome! i really didn’t want to spend more money on the bike because i don’t ride it very often and was using it with a 11-28t in fact but prefer to have something for the rolling slopes.

It’s New Bike Day! Picked up my new Crux yesterday.

Been NBD for awhile. Built this up from a frame and stayed with rim brakes because of unpopular opinions (and having the groupset already). Rides very similarly to a sl6 Tarmac but more comfortable and exotic

BMC service center also moved a few miles from my house which is a plus.

I try to dabble in everything. I ride my Look bike 9 out of 10 rides, but I’m hoping to mix in a L’Eroica or two this year and another trip with the mountain bike to the Alps.

  2. Allez Sprint (replacement bike for my supersix evo after being robbed with a gun on a training-ride in Chile) on my favourite climb in Chile/the whole world.
  3. not actually my bike, just a rental - just loved riding in the Atacama desert and wanted to share
  4. My trail beater - Canyon - Last winter during a rare snow day.
