It’s a Voice Velo Deep V post.
Works great so far. Gives a bit of flex, smoothing out the choppy bumps.
They designed it for mtn bike racing. Their rider rode it in one of the multi day events . Maybe Cape Epic. That’s how I found out about the company.

Gorgeous bike!

I’ve been debating putting these on my gen7 as well. How do you find the bottle for use while riding? Any leaking? How easy or hard getting them out and back in cages while riding?

They leak a little sometimes but I haven’t had a bottle that didn’t. Getting them in and out is fine on my 56cm, smaller may be tough on the ST bottle

Mine is a 58 so they should be fine then. I currently have some trek bottles and have had issue with some caps leaking. I just keep the best ones out for riding. Wouldn’t be able to swap caps though on aero bottles. I have also used camelback podium bottles and they don’t leak at all but I definitely notice the extra effort to get the water out of them.
The bottles and cages look pretty good and the bike looks awesome!

They can rattle over rough road sometimes but only when the front bottle is semi full. I tend to drink from the DT bottle and when that’s empty I swap it to the ST and move the full one up since it’s still easier to reach. But I used to do this with rounds too

New bike day!

Or rather, new frame day!

Stripped the groupset off the Defy and built up a Ritchey Logic Disc.

Specs:

  • Size small/51
  • Farsports Air3 wheels with Galfer rotors
  • Conti GP5000TR’s, 30mm
  • Shimano 105 shifters/rear der/calipers
  • Ultegra 50/34 crank
  • Dura Ace front Der
  • Specialized carbon handlebar
  • Thompson seatpost
  • SQ Labs 614 saddle
  • King titanium cages
  • Garmin single sided pedals
  • K-edge Wahoo mount

With everything except bar tape (Lizard Skins 1.8 in transit), it comes in at 18.13lbs. Not bad for a steel bike.

Now I just need the rider to lose 18.13lbs and I’ll be flying…

Is it light? No!
Is it aero? Also no!

Does it ride like a dream? Yes!

Picked up one of the blowout Trek Roscoe 7s from LBS this morning. Ordered it a few weeks back hadn’t had a chance to pick it up. I got it so cheap he was supposed to just hand me the box but slapped it together for me this morning. Haven’t decided on pedals but the plastics will be fine if its warm one morning next week to tow the tot to school.

Not that I ride the 7000 anymore but this is what 30 years gets you

This might be the 3rd time of posting this one :innocent: There is a lot to be said for a versatile steel frame that can..

  • Go touring with up to 4 panniers
  • Be a winter road bike with proper metal mudguards
  • Clear MTB tyres

This third iteration might be my favourite, rebuilt with GRX 12 speed and 40t x 10-51 gearing and for this overnighter, with 2.1 mezcals. With two wheelsets and this new GRX group, am riding road, gravel and touring without any worry of gearing.
