After a year without training I decided to hop back on. I am doing my own choose your own adventure polarized plan with 2 hard workouts a week.
I have noticed that TrainerRoad has added a suggested Recovery function. How closely do others follow this? Does it adapt? It seems like after any ride of 60-80 TSS I get a warning. I just finished a busy weekend with some skiing too and now it is telling me I should not train after a VO2Max ride.
I am planning to still do my light spin for an hour but want to get others thoughts.
I canât comment on the TR specific features but after a year of no training, a busy ski weekend and a VO2max ride Iâd probably suggest a rest day.
But if the âlight spinâ is super super easy then that would probably be fine as well. And by âlight spinâ I mean like <10TSS for an hour would be great. Like you should be surprised the pedals are even turning because youâre going so easy.

That is exactly what I mean by easy spin. My go to for these spins are Recess or Lazy Mountain -1
Busy Ski may be over selling it. following my 4 y/o is more like going for a walk.

Hey there,
Weâd second @mwglow15âs comment â after a year of no training plus the skiing (even if it wasnât super stressful), it sounds like Red Light Green Light is just warning you that your training stress may be ramping up a bit quickly.
Ultimately, itâs up to you whether or not to âheed the warningâ â so if you feel alright for an easy spin and feel like it would benefit your recovery, then Iâd say go for it.
