So it can look at your plan and the current and future workouts and predict how u will end up regarding ftp and other metrics? So basically what I requested and posted over a year ago as to what was possible with Ai but the community roasted me.
I can dig up the posts and the nay sayers names if anyone likes!

What’s the purpose of announcing ‘biggest ever AI improvements’ and then not event saying the date it will be rolled out to existing TR users?

It reminds me of those announcements of GPT 5.2 or some expensive movies where the expectations became too high after the announcements and the reality was not meeting the expectations (hope I’m wrong here for TR)

Feels like they had their heart set on a Christmas day announcement

So it sounds smart to get a second opinion from the the Chat GPT (?). I have to wonder how it knows all of your TR data and likely watch data? If it can go that far, does it have your account and password too?

Probably seems silly, but I’ve been checking if anything has shown up under “Early Access” daily since filling out the ‘interested in beta’ form 8 days ago lol.

Yeah some kind of timeline pressure at play. This is typical tech playbook though, “release” something without a firm delivery date. Companies usually do this to hit investor driven timelines (quarterly report, investment rounds, acquisition, etc)

I’m a user, will continue to be, but the PR machine has been ramping up at TR the last 6 months or so (annoying, but just how things are these days). Something bigger at play here.

Hate to tell you but any website/app that you use that stores data in a DB, if someone has DB access can already see that data without needing to know your username and password.

Traineroad have said themselves they’ve fed millions of ride data to their AI models.

Using TR or linking Strava workouts to TR means it’s going to in TR’s databases, this how they know all your workouts and watch data.

I don’t think there is anything nefarious going on…

I’m sure it’s pretty much done and they just want to run it past a few more beta testers first.

I agree 1000% when I stopped trying to do my own training plan and just did the prescribed work and rest!!! I have gotten so much better. Now instead of trying to find a secret training routine, I focus on eating better and leave the training to TR. The only changes I make in the TR prescribed work is picking alternative workouts that have on-screen instruction as a new cyclist. The tips have really helped with pedaling, breathing, and understanding the purpose of the workout.

The AT beta I was on. If I remember correctly, they found a problem which delayed the launch. Doesn’t seem to be the case here.

I think the TR folks are working hard to get this update out to everyone and want people to know it’s coming. I also think they put a lot of work into it and are proud of the update. I know they’ve been saying it for a while, but honestly think it will be very soon.

I think the combo of the holidays and then there have been one or two bugs in the beta that aren’t huge, but multiplied out to the whole TR user base and they might be swamped with customer support tickets.

I just guessing, 27% less? :wink: I watched some of the podcast and came away with a vague feeling that they don’t want to explain too much on how they improved the adaptation. My challenge with TR is days I ride with friends. I always go too hard just to keep up with the group. And where I ride is very hilly.

Improvements I’d like to see is inclusions of weight training and nutrition. That would be at least a 27% improvement!

My issue is I hate the workouts the custom builder gives me for mountain biking plans. Hoping the new system allows some customization.

That’s why I like the plan builder, I find that the workouts I don’t like are good for me. If I could choose I’d end up doing Colosseum -2 all the time :joy:

Question, if I go for a random gravel ride or a spin on my eMTB, will this new system still update my training plan, even if I haven’t scheduled these outdoor sessions?

It adapts today to unplanned rides. Or do you mean moving workouts to different days.
