See above for back to 100%. I’d love an ERG sprint preset I can specify for those endurance rides where I am encouraged to do 20-second bursts. They are never quite high enough; I can never figure out how to switch out of ERG MODE, and it requires finger motor skills I don’t have to push it up and back down from my phone.
I think I’m slowly getting my head around the new AI engine. I’m seeing good things. I would love to see the ability to have TR give conventional (2/3/4/5 minute) VO2 intervals in lieu of on-off intervals. I have found that I respond much better to conventional and I think coach Jonathan has said the same. Perhaps that can be a toggle in Training Approach or at least a suggestion under Workout Alternatives. When I look at Workout Alternatives, all it gives me are similar flavors of on-off. I can manually substitute what I think are the best conventional alternatives but I feel like I’m missing out on all the benefits of AI and not getting an optimized progression. Thanks!
You can. Edit the workout and there’s a drop-down box to choose the interval type you want. ![]()
You can do the same at plan level.
I’d like to see some VO2 workouts with longer rests between intervals or just the ability to extend the recoveries. This would be even better now that the AI can tell us how much the longer recovery degrades the expected impacts of the workout.
That is likely caused by the Training plan. I am in the other boat, I usually get longer Vo2 max intervals and I cannot remember the last time I did a on-off one.
Allow IOs app to display “Picture in Picture” mode when minimized.
I watch videos on my phone during many trainer rides. Often i’ll plug my phone into a monitor via USB C and watch. Apps like Amazon Video, Youtube, Netflix, etc. allow me to display the video in a small corner of the screen while I use a different app on phone. I’d like to see TR do the same thing for the opposite reason. I’d like to have a video displayed full screen, with a small corner occupied by the TR UI so I can keep an eye on how much time is left in an interval or how many I have left.
Please add Airpods Pro 3 Heart Rate support. It is reasonably accurate and much more convenient than a chest strap.
Apple Watch while you’re at it ![]()
FYI, an iPad has that built in and doesn’t require the apps to support it since the OS does it for you. You can have an iPhone-sized TR on the side with your video taking up the rest of the screen
Filter calendar to just show the activity type you’re intrested in tracking for training purposes.
Its useful (I hope) that TR algo understands all the other physical activities that people do but really I just want to see my cycling workouts on the calendar.
i want to get the most out of my training and the time i have available to ride. in my 2 years using TR plans i always feel like im not riding as much as id like to. i understand the plan meets me where i’m at, and that part works great, but if i have 12hrs available to ride and i’m currently on 6.5hrs, i want the plan to gradually and safely work my volume up over time to reach that weekly goal. in a year or two, surely i’ll be a more durable rider on higher volume. if i have the time and desire, then why not?
When filling out the plan details it would be nice to be asked for hours available to ride and for TR to use that information when organizing the plan. if the plan is only 6 months long and there isnt enough time to get up to the desired volume safely then thats cool. but if its a long term plan or a plan built off of a previous plan then factor in the volume increase to suit.
I would also like to be able to adjust the calendar to my liking. I’m not sure what you would like to change, but I would much prefer it to be laid out like every other calendar I use - Sunday through Saturday, instead of Monday through Sunday.
Minor request here - but could we please get rid of the 1970’s avocado-brown color for yellow days and the dark grey for normal days? The old calendar colors were fine.
that’s always my first thought. It’s not odd that TR do it, it’s normal and expected by most of us with experience following training plans.
I was going to say “diarrhea brown”, but didn’t want to make the UI/UX devs mad, LOL!
Yea, I grew up with a refrigerator that color.
OK, now I’ll stop with the off-topic silliness.
I’m sure this has been asked before but I didn’t see it in a cursory scroll up this thread: I noticed recently that in the calendar, hovering over the completed workouts shows the workout graph instead of the map:
Can we reverse that, and make the graph the default state, and the map on hover? At least for Zwift rides associated with a TR workout? I’d rather see that on the calendar than a map in the middle of nowhere.
+1 billion
Hi Trainerroad,
There used to be a “Difficulty Level” in the Workout filters area. This has disappeared.
This was really useful if/when one wanted to sort away all workouts that had a lower difficulty level than where one was currently at.
Now you have to first go to calendar and see what level you are at, and then manually find a workout that matches the difficulty you would like to do next. I would vote for bringing this feature back as it is super useful and time-saving.
Is there any reason why it was removed?

I believe what you’re looking for is still there, just a bit harder to find. Go to workouts and then select list in the top right.
