As if it’s not slippery enough, the crowd is throwing banana peels on the course!!!
Is the GCN+ breakaway region locked this time around? Or is there none this year? I only get the german post-show
Agree, they definitely should exclude him from this competition.
Vingeaard must have been on a flyer before he came down.
Looks pretty good. Although I’m a bit disappointed that Geraint seems to be like the 4th most capable GC guy. Seems like a 3 man race.
And Thomas’ WTF moments start with Stage 1: ‘I REALISED I STILL HAD MY GILET ON’: WHEN IT RAINS IT POURS FOR THOMAS AT TOUR TT
Did he? I never saw it.
Not watched myself yet but going from the results interesting that pidcock obviously left it all out there - might not just be there to make up the numbers and get some TdF experience - could be part of a 3-pronged attack with Thomas and Yates?
You don’t go that fast in those conditions if you are just there as a domestic and stage hunter.
Must have at least half an eye on GC.
I thought he did, but it was Laporte, my bad Christophe Laporte Crashes In Tour de France Time Trial - YouTube). It was commentators curse, “they are going well”, yikes they are on the deck! He sprung up very fast though.
I don’t think so, today just played to his ability, and he had the best conditions of the day, it was almost dry on the cobbles. The first 50 runners had the bad conditions, the later half of the field were way above their normal placings due to better conditions.
Like last year in the La Vuelta he is there to learn and play a team role / gain experience.
Yates, Thomas and Martinez are their three pronged attack.
Hope Pidcock gets the chance to go for a stage.
That’s what you get for just going from the results and not watching it
What a massive PR fail for Specialized……LOL.
And don’t even get me started on the new Kask helmets / visors.
Lampaert to win today would have been quite the hot take! Really happy for him, he seems like a good guy
For a dude with gold medals and the yellow jersey, G is the most haphazard rider going!
I bet he was the type of person to only remember one trainer for PE lessons.
+1. I think it’s great though. I mean I understand the need to push tech and all but, good lord that TT5 thing is just hideous.
+1 again. WTH? Obviously they test well but, there must be a limit to how stupid we can possibly look.
What about EF/Easy posts road helmets…reminds me of a kids helmet from Target:
Hot take for stage 2: the following riders lose over 2 minutes:
- Adam Yates
- Dani Martinez
- Pogacar
- Pinot
- Vlasov
- Haig
- Caruso
IDK…West to SW wind 10-15mph (16-24kph) doesn’t seem like enough to really split it up but, no idea of the roads prior to the last 18km bridge. The bridge runs mostly east west…so who knows. I do think Jumbo and Quick-Step will try to make splits/opportunities. Imo it will be super aggressive.
