The 'Omics of Exercise

Interesting paper. I look forward to the TR podcast deep dive.

Enjoy:

Marginally interesting. It’s running instead of cycling. It’s using ‘healthy’ instead of ‘well trained’ subjects. It’s using a VO2max protocol instead of a more endurance focused effort.

Why do you find it interesting?

  1. It’s interesting the types of questions being asked with non-hypothesis driven “'omics”.
  2. The attempt to tie this back to relevance with insulin.
  3. Inflammatory pathway involvement. I’d like to see this more in endurance athletes with some different designs.

This is a pretty good lab and I know a couple of the authors in professional but not personal capacity. If opportunity presents will inquire as to what they are doing next to further evolve the work, or if this was a one off.
