I’ve started these threads primarily as therapy/support for anyone subjecting themself to the Full or Half distance training plans! Please do post anything you want, getting through the plans and to the start line is not easy, and I know I’ll need some group therapy to keep me going and others prob…

Anyone else relatively easily smash every single type of workout and every type of interval except 2 and 3 minute vo2 max intervals?

Diet is of course highly individual, but for me the biggest gains have come (and keep coming) when I’m eating plenty of carbs both on and off the bike. I was paleo-ish before, and when I switched to a more carb-centric diet (basically tons of brown rice, oats, legumes, beans, potatoes, fruits & vegg…

Quick update for me. I just finished half distance build mid volume. Today was ramp test and saw a nice bump from 293 to 307. That also put me above 4w/kg. I’m quite pleased with that. Even though training is going very well (except for swimming obliviously) I’m starting to struggle with motivation…

[image] Jonathanashby: I might give Ironman VR a shot I was thinking to give it a go just to try it out. I haven’t been able to find their indoor cycling distance conversion though. I’m really curious if they are just taking wheel speed from the trainer and using that calculated distance or i…

Since you need to connect your Ironman VR account to your Strava or Garmin Connect, my guess is that the cycling distance will be what you see in one of those apps. For this reason it won’t work well with TR. My plan would be to do it outside or on Zwift.

I started a seperate thread here on it: [image] Ironman Virtual launched Racing Looks like a partnership with sportheroes.com , I don’t know who they are, likely French organisation from the language encountered. You register and authorise a data feed from Strava, Suunto,…

The symptoms you are describing might also be related to your diet. “Paleo-ish” sounds to me like plenty raw food, little meat and generally less variance? I’m not commenting on the sense or nonsense of any kind of diet, but your situations aligns pretty well with what I’ve been going through earlie…

Just did Eclipse and boy did it not go well, I have done that workout earlier this year no problem but last night just felt super flat and not able to get going. Maybe tired, stress, or lack of motivation, who knows. Finally able to start running outside now. But part of me is still concerned if i s…

Honestly at this point I don’t think there is such a thing as overreacting. It is serious. Especially considering that keeping distance is basically free. That said, keep in mind the virus travels in drops and unless people sneeze directly into your face are unlikely to reach outside the 6ft zone. …

Nice work on the FTP gains, 4w/kg is my next FTP milestone. Similar situaiton here, Outlaw Half has been cancelled in May and I very much doubt the full distance will go ahead in July. I think I’ll drop the tri plans for now and maybe focus on building power on the bike just in case there’s a chanc…
