The Bell curve of cylists - how fast are the average TR users?

I move up an age group in a couple of months, looking forward to the power profile increase whilst having my feet up on the sofa

I hope it increases :grimacing:

My percentages are all shown as 0.0%, using Firefox browser.
Any idea what’s causing this?

This season is my First Season with TR. I’ve reduced the weekly hours and TSS, but all my stats are improved a lot!! And I’m in the 3rd week of SSBLV-2

I need raw power numbers to make my fat ass feel better

Looking at these makes me realise how bad a cyclist i am :sob:

Welcome to my world…

Why does everbody’s power profile seem to be so flat? No real specialists using TR?

I’m a specialist insofar as I’m good from 4min-2hrs. My :05 and 1:00 are pretty terrible. My big 5 sec from last year was power meter error.

You still look pretty flat to me? I suppose that is the problem with the eyeball method, though.

Flat, and the short duration end is pretty dismal. I’m Cat 5 at 5 sec and 1min. Thankfully, it’s a different story from 5 min on up.

This one will rise (and I haven’t done any max 90min-2hr efforts this year), but the shape will stay pretty much the same.

It’s because it’s percentile based and the scaling on the chart. Your not compared against “world class” like the original chart, but against your peers.

Same here mate :joy: Being 95kg makes my stats look abysmal LOL Bez nazwy-1

So a flat line means that your like everybody else using TR, but may not really tell you what your actual strengths and weaknesses are?

I guess the answer would depend on whether TR users are representative of all cyclists? Is there a way of testing that idea?

Intervals.icu isn’t just for TR users. Anybody can submit their data there. So those results shouldn’t be thought of being representative of TR.

You’re right, I’m mixing the two up.

It also depends on the data set, ie. number of samples. As well as time of the season, because the data is a rolling average of the last 84 days.
My graph looks very different for all men (n=1738)

compared to Men U23 (n=48)

One thing I found interesting about xert’s version of this is that it made the distinction between w/kg and pure watts depending on “role”…e.g climber was w/kg, while rouleur was pure watts.

This was motivating to me as a fellow ~100kg rider.

Interesting, I knew my 5min power was a big weakness of mine. seeing 100.00% is very comforting though.

Pure watts will be available soon! I am only 73 kg so did watts/kg first to make myself feel better
