Sweet spot: first few intervals much harder then last few

For me, I generally start to feel better following the first SS interval. Not that I feel “bad” during the first one, per se, but my HR will be a little higher at first and then be more stable on subsequent intervals

Same here with SS. First interval I’m typically questioning if I am going to be able to finish the workout. Next one still tough, but doable. Typically smooth sailing after that.
