Kinda tech-y question: I damaged the fork of my 2015 C-dale SuperX cross bike. It is a 1 1/8 to 1 1/4 taper, which is pretty uncommon. I’ve got a few options to replace the fork, but to expand the possibilities I was wondering the following: Is it possible to reduce the 1 1/4 dimension to 1 1/8? This would increase the amount of forks that I would have available to me. It is an integrated headset so I don’t think any of the standard shims would work. Does a bearing with the same OD but a smaller ID exist?
Get a reducer crown - it replaces the crown that comes with your headset and should just work.
