Let’s not forget that when they were working on WLV2 Jonathan kept trolling us about how awesome it was and he couldn’t wait until we could all start using it too. Well we still haven’t been able to start using it, so let’s just hope whatever he’s using now actually comes to the masses.
Very unlikely that anything gets dropped during the holidays. They’d be smart to be on a code freeze during this time if the year.
Man I bet the people at TR HQ must be having a ball with this. I think I would be throwing so studdle hint also if I where in there shoes.
Something like “Man after that block with 3.0 legs never felt so pumped” just for laughs ![]()
Did anyone notice how at the end of today’s podcast Jonathan said something like there where going to revisit I think it was a zone or how not to make a mistake soon?
I think it had to do with 3.0.
If they could get it out by the 19th, that’s gotta be peak trainer/turbo season.
Whatever it is isn’t going to make a difference to a week’s training, it’d be more about managing long term load/stress. TBH half the world used to be doing the festive 500 during the holidays, not sure that’s still a thing though!
I don’t have domain I could use but…….
Nice. Should put that under each podcast episode as comment in the forum and in YouTube.
Hopefully there are internal timelines, one thing I have learned as a people leader is that if you give a team 3 months to get something done, it takes 3 months. If you give them a month, it takes a month…. If you have no timeline at all……….. you will get no results. The fact that they are not willing to go on record is not a good sign.
I noticed something interesting in the latest podcast.
3 buttons on the calendar that i do not have.
- skip week
- skip day
- adapt check
Really curious on the last one.
These are not necessarily new features pending release…
For Support & Dev purposes, the TR software will include features and instrumentation that are only ever available for internal staff usage (to help them do their jobs), and never intended for roll out to us muppets. It’s possible those buttons might be examples of that rather than being fancy new toys being prepped for us. Just saying. TBD…. ![]()
That’s true, when Eddie roasts peoples training he’s able to see when/if adaptions have been ignored for example.
Probably depends where you are, but yes.
Strava has a challenge dedicated to it
And Audax Australia seems to care about it too, enough to encourage randonneurs to knock it off in a few days. The Queensland series is a 200k one day then a 300 the next.
Only a 300, in summer? Sounds like audax aus needs to step their game up ![]()
(Never done it myself but last year people’s water bottles were freezing halfway round….)
Can’t see any new release now before Xmas, given the amount of time left before people are off for the Festive period, if you release something next week, sorting any issues with it is going to be a pain with people being off over the Christmas holidays. I imagine it will now be early in the New Year at least.
Sounds like a horrorshow type of idea! We have code freezes starting soon.
Got tagged by @CenturyRide to pull my feature suggestion in here, and it sounds like some folks are thinking along similar lines.
Dunno how much I match their target demo. I’ve done some structured training and like seeing my numbers go up, but I put more effort into other types of workouts, don’t do group rides, and rely on cycling on the trainer primarily for some extra cardio. When the weather’s nicer here (MA) a long road ride maxes out at about 2 1/2 hours.
Have they really lost that many though?
I know I’ve made a few comments (and a webpage) but it all works plenty good enough and I don’t really like zwift/rouvy style workouts.
I get it’s frustrating being teased and edged but I doubt anyone who left did so from this reason.
I did. How many years have we waited for V2? After like 18 months, I let my legacy subscription go. I’ve been back for a month or two here and there to try the new stuff, but I’m no longer an annual subscriber. I hated leaving and it took me a long, long time to give up, but I eventually did.
If you like the system now AND you’re using it why would you leave?
The biggest “improvement” for me was to stop listening to the podcast and hearing about the “next big thing" coming and to just enjoy my training.
Yeah. I have criticisms for how they’ve handled the release of information. The software engineer in me thinks, without knowing the specifics obviously, that “collecting a bunch of changes into a big release” was a breathtakingly bad idea. But, in the end, I’m still pretty happy with the platform as is.
