Can you please show heart rate zones and power zones in the training app, please? This helps you understand what you are working on specifically (without the mental maths) and how they are changing relative to the value of that zone.
Additionally, as your Functional Threshold Power (FTP) adjusts automatically throughout the year, these zones will update accordingly.

Hey @achomoko
While we don’t currently show power zones in the app itself, you can view them when analyzing any completed workout online. Like this:
These zones are always relative to your FTP at the time of the workout, so they’ll automatically reflect any FTP changes throughout the year.
I’m not sure we’ll add HR zones considering our stance on training with Power vs HR, but I’ve taken your feedback to the team!
While heart rate can offer some useful insights, we prioritize power as the primary training metric.
Power vs Heart Rate: How Modern Athletes Train
Hi,
I understand we use power over HRM for training purposes due to lag and other variability. But… Heart rate zones are important for analysis IMO For example, if I remove some variables that impact HRM, and do the same 20 minute climb once a week in the cool of the morning and hold the same power, my effort to hit the same power is reduced as I gain fitness. I know when it’s hot my HRM is higher compared to it being cold. Actually knowing how your body , and heart rate varies as temperature varies is important. Right now I can’t see that in trainerroad.

I will take your feedback to the team
Hi Caro,
It’s more about monitoring how your heart rate fluctuates as you work different power zones during a session (and recovers between intervals) - it’s much easier to discern this when represented by a zone number vs an absolute number.

If you want to do a more thorough analysis of your training, there’s always intervals.icu.

Absolutely agree — showing heart rate zones and power zones directly in the training app would be a game-changer. It takes out the guesswork and allows users to clearly understand their effort and performance focus in real time. Automatically syncing with changes in FTP would make the system even smarter and more adaptive over time.
It’s similar to how tools like Snapchat Planet help visualize complex relationships in a simple, intuitive way — or how the Brat Generator breaks down nuanced behavior patterns into something you can actually work with. Smart, personalized data presentation makes all the difference. Hope the dev team takes this one seriously!
