Should I do an FTP test?

FTP AI just lowered my FTP to 227 Watts

I believe this might be a touch too low yesterday’s workout was 2 x 20 minutes

And I did 20 mins 233 watts, 5 minutes easy and then 20 mins 259 watts

It gave the workout a 12.6 seeetspot. I rated the workout very hard

I emailed Support a couple days ago, but it seems they’re flooded with emails after the latest update. At least that’s the response I got from them.

Any suggestions are much appreciated thank you

It seems that the tr ftp and the traditional definition of ftp does not always align.

Within the tr ecosystem (indoors only as there is currently an outdoor ftp bug? But that might be predictions only, not positive) the ai training number seems to do a good job of assigning doable and progressive workouts.

You could do a long form test to get the traditional ftp value but it would probably make sense to leave the ai number as is for training purposes unless you have a specific reason to change it.

+1

If you want an FTP number for race pacing then do a test.

For continued TR purposes do not change the number.

These are 2 different things with the similar names

I’d recommend a race pace test, not an FTP test, and correlation with your power graph

Hey @Jenalpa13

Looks like Robert over at support answered your ticket!

Workout with 30 mins nonstop at 258 watts average and Normalized Power.
I rated as very hard.

AI FTP detection 227

Predicted FTP is 217
