I run a lot with work travel, as above you do need to do a bit of running all the time, it’s no good to run 2 or 3 times on a work trip then not again for a month or so - but you don’t need to run super often just to keep it ticking over. Pre COVID I ran a lot for this purpose, I have started doing a lot of travel again but I am now also training for a half marathon, so running more consistently regardless.
I’ve also done the hotel gym bike thing far too much
It’s so hit and miss - it’s helpful to have the option to go for a run instead.
Ya, my main goal is just to not have gaps in my training where I lose fitness once a month because I don’t have the bike with me.

Yup I’d have this second set up at the away hotel. For this its lucky you will return each stint to the same accommodations. hotels usually have a luggage storage area that could accommodate your stuff or hospital/clinic should have a storing place.
When I travel, one of my favorite things to do is to lace up my running shoes and hit the streets or trails of wherever I’m visiting. It’s such a great way to explore a new place and get a feel for the local vibe. I find that running while traveling can be incredibly refreshing, both physically and mentally. I usually use dbfahrplan.com to help me plan my running routes. It’s a fantastic tool because it not only maps out the distance and terrain but also highlights points of interest along the way. I’ve discovered some amazing spots that I wouldn’t have found otherwise, like hidden parks, stunning viewpoints, and charming neighborhoods. Another reason why I love running while traveling is that it allows me to stay active and keep up with my fitness routine, even when I’m away from home. It’s a great way to counterbalance all the delicious food I indulge in while traveling! Plus, running in a new environment is always a bit of an adventure. You never know what you might stumble upon or who you might meet along the way.
