RPE Bug - ‘hard’ ride mislabelled

Hoping one of the mods can help me as haven’t heard back from support in six days.

Completed a Zwift race and set my best ever one hour power. Went to label it as ‘hard’ but TrainerRoad then cut to the ‘workout too intense’ menu that comes up when you fail a workout and it asks you why.

Ride is now labelled ‘too intense’ which I fear will screw with my AI FTP and the build phase I’m about to hit.

Just want the ride labelled as ‘hard’.

Yes, same here… When I categorize a ride as “hard” I mean it was OK but quite intense. Now you indeed get the questionnaire asking you what the problem was… There is no problem. The ride was spot on.

Sounds like a bug - is the ride liked to a TR workout at all? I notice it says “planned” at the top of your screenshot?

I’m wondering if it has been erroniously linked to a low intensity workout that shouldnt be “hard”?

You are exactly right on why this has happened. Only spotted that myself last night. Had a three hour solo endurance in the calendar, did a Zwift race instead.

I’ve now removed the association between the rides but no option to change RPE any longer.

Hoping mods can help as I say support gone quiet on me for a week (very unlike TR in my experience).

Also surprised by this… maybe @eddie can chase it for you

From memory you can only edit the survey response for a set time - so you might have lost your ability to edit it now - but at least now you have removed the association and I dont believe it will have a big impact of your furture training anyway.

If you are worried you can edit the ride via the web page and untick the option to include it in the calculations.

Hey @TomW86

I am so sorry we have not gotten back to you. This is not the norm, as Support tends to answer fairly quickly!

I took a look, and it appears that your Zwift Race is still associated with the Endurance workout Boardstone -2. I am going to see if the ride recovery team can dissociate it, as I think this is what’s causing the issue.

I will also see if we can change the survey response to Hard, as the 7-day time frame for being able to adjust it has passed.

All that said, this won’t affect AI FTP Detection as it’s taking millions of data points to detect it, so just a mislabeled survey response won’t affect it. It also won’t drastically change the Build Phase you are about to enter, as our system looks beyond Workout Levels/Survey responses, factoring in your fitness, recent training, and overall trends to pick the right workout for you that day.

Thanks very much and thanks for looking into it. Appreciate it’s a single RPE response but as best ever one hour power thought it might have an outsized impact on upcoming workouts / AI FTP and so on.

Hey @TomW86

What you experienced is a bug, but rest assured, this is just a display issue when disassociating the ride; it looks like it’s still associated when it isn’t. Nothing gets affected on the backend.

It looks like the survey response was changed to “Hard,” so we’re all good now!
