I do my Traineroad rides every other day and am trying to use Quinoa as a source of fuel for my rides, I start my rides at 4:30 pm on the dot! If i was to use Quinoa for fuel, how long before riding should i eat it? I know that it is a low GI food.
I would think at least 2-3 hours depending on how many calories you’re trying to get in.
depends on the type of riding too. If you’re doing z2 / z3 rides you can probably eat it closer to the workouts as the intensity won’t disrupt your stomach. I’d say eat a big lunch and then have a light higher GI food as an afternoon snack or before the workout if you want something.
