Pro Cycling’s Secret to Staying Lean? | Ozempic / Semaglutide Not Banned by WADA for Athletes

No evidence. But given the history of cyclists who have struggled to get lean (e.g. Ullrich), have talked about how hard they find the sacrifices necessary to get lean (e.g. Thomas), transformed themselves from track cyclist to TdF winner after cutting weight (e.g. Wiggins) or taken PEDs to get lean I don’t think it’s as simple as “elites don’t have a problem being lean”.

Appetite suppressants are still rife in cycling, a lot of riders are using snus, which is nicotine.

Someone wrote a book a hundred years ago explaining why this would be a terrible idea, naturally, America then decided to make it a reality.

Sadly it’s propagated across most of the civilised world. Every aspect of human condition has a diagnosis, a drug and a profit associated. Welcome to The Dream.

I avoided it, but my children are tagged and bagged, a lifetime of buying pills ahead of them, with a constant stream of social media to keep them on the path.

Wasnt expecting to rant, but there it is.

Born to Shop. Probably not the book you are thinking of, but yeah it describes things fairly well.

And the crap that is in our food, and the view that exercising is a waste of time. (Maybe HHS should buy Peloton and put a bike in every person’s house?)

That pro cyclists would be using Ozempic is insane to me. That people are not able to make better choices for food and exercise depresses me. Born to Shop… :face_with_spiral_eyes:
