See screenshots below. This is one example. But I choose other options and this is the only option. I think this is broken?
Hey there! This is not a bug; it’s your plan personalizing your training around your capabilities, and optimizing how you spend your training time to make you faster.
Let me explain in a little more detail. Optimal training is a question of balancing volume (the total amount of time you’re spending training) vs. intensity (the amount of hard training you’re doing). The human body can only productively handle a limited amount of intensity each week, so as total volume goes up, the relative proportion of intense workouts within that training will decrease. As an example, even in a training plan that sees an athlete on the bike 6 days a week, it’s still likely only 3 of those days will be hard workouts.
As volume decreases, the relative proportion of intensity can increase. In plans that include 3 days of training per week, it’s usually most productive for those all to be intense workouts. This way, we’re optimizing that time to give you the biggest return on your investment of training time.
This is what you’re seeing here. The total volume of your plan each week is optimized to your current capabilities. Then, within that recommended volume, your plan is prioritizing how you use the available time to be as productive as possible, so you get faster. With 3 days of training per week, that’s usually 3 hard workouts as a starting point for many athletes. Exactly what those 3 workouts will be depends on the demands of your discipline, goals, and abilities.
If you would prefer for only 2 of these workouts to be hard ones each week, that option is available within the “Settings” menu, which is visible in your first screenshot. Click the 2 Intense days per week toggle at the bottom of the menu, and your plan will be redesigned with only 2 hard workouts per week.
I hope that all makes sense! Let us know if you have any other questions.
Thank you @SeanHurley . That explanation helps, I will customize this a bit
As a user I selected “Moderate” and I expected it to have 2 hard and 1 easy since “conservative” presented with 2 hard and “Balanced” presented 3 hard. This is my feedback.
