Outdoor workouts on Garmin are recording twice

Hey guys,

I’ve been training outside exclusively all summer. I push the workouts to my Garmin Edge. When the workout is over I finish it on my edge, then I go into the app and “mark as complete” the workout in the trainer road app. My issue is my Garmin pushes the workout back to trainer road (or maybe Strava does it I’m not sure). Needless to say I’m recording the same workout twice and my question is which one of these duplicates should I remove from my calendar? Does it matter or will one of those instances provide better data to the trainer road app?

Big fan of what you guys are doing.

Thanks.

Hey @Ugsomania

Looks like the workout with the ride data just needed to be associated with the Outside workout cards (with no data).

I did this for you already by using the right-click capability:

The Outside workout card should automatically get matched to the outside workout data syncing in from Garmin. You should not have to do anything on your end, like marking it “Complete.”

Can you walk me through the process of how you load>>record>>and finish saving workouts on your Garmin and TR?

This can help me figure out what’s amiss here.

Sure. The workout is pushed to the Garmin where it’s available on the main screen. I select ride and off I go. When the workout ends it’s prompts me it is over, then when I finish my ride I hit the stop button on the edge then the finish flag icon to end the ride. After that I go into the trainer road app and mark the workout as complete. Shortly after that it seems when everything syncs the duplicate workout from the Garmin shows up in the trainer road calendar as an additional completed workout.
