Hey everyone,
We just added the ability to check your training plan volume from the Calendar! It’s quick and easy; just click the new Check Volume button. It’s available for everyone today.
Check Plan Volume
When you initially build a training plan, TrainerRoad analyzes your training history and gives you an AI-driven recommended schedule. This recommendation meets you where you’re at to give you the right amount of structured interval training while avoiding fatigue from sudden spikes in training stress.
As you progress through your training plan, you might reach a point where you feel it’s time for a change in training volume. You might be feeling ready for more, or maybe even need a little less (post-sickness, anyone? ).
When you get to that point, you can use the new Check Volume button! This will prompt TrainerRoad to reevaluate your training schedule and suggest any changes that could make you faster.
How Do I Check My Plan Volume?
The new Check Volume button can be found on your Calendar when using the TrainerRoad website.
Clicking on your plan start annotation, a phase start annotation, or the plan name above the TSS chart will open the Training Plan Overview. You’ll find the Check Volume button at the bottom of this overview.
You can also find the button when you right-click your plan start annotation or a phase start annotation (did you know about right-click actions on the Calendar?!).
Clicking Check Volume will bring you to the Schedule step of Plan Builder, with your updated plan volume recommendation. Proceed through the rest of Plan Builder as you normally would to update your plan! Or exit out of Plan Builder to keep your existing plan.
When Should I Check My Plan Volume?
We recommend using this button when you feel like you’re ready for a change in training volume. This could be after completing a phase of your training plan, but could happen at any point in your training.
Note that your volume recommendation may be the same as the original one. That simply means your current plan schedule is still the best for you!
Let me know if you have any questions, or if you experience any issues with it. Happy training!
